Yall recommend Iowa or staying in Omaha proper? Haven't been since 2009

Same here, haven’t been since 2009 and I’ve been wanting to get back.

Doughty is gonna have a monster year.

I also can’t wait to see an offensive approach that has a purpose rather than just hacking away.

We stay right across the street from TD Ameritrade! Right in the middle of everything, no driving or Ubers. You can walk everywhere (except Barrett’s ??)

If a couple of the new starting pitchers hold up, this team could be very, very good. Bullpen should be a strength, and the lineup might be the best in the country.

Doughty might be the best player on the team according to the head coach.

Yep, doughty not being on this is laughable. But i get why

Agree. No one is really talking about him.

There is no “should be” when it comes to pitching. Don’t be surprised if games are pieced together where starters only go 3-5 innings as part of the plan and then your ride the hot arm as long as possible after. It’s going to be a whole new world for LSU when it comes to how the pitching is handled. People aren’t going to like it and we are going to have to explain it over and over to the mouth breathing football fans who show up in game threads.

I feel like we're going to use guys that can go one time through the line up one whole time through the line up, instead of limiting them to one inning.
I don't know that we have anyone that can go three times with consistency right now. But I think we have a bunch of guys that can go two times and a bunch of guys that can go one time. And we have a handful of guys that will be able to fill in an inning here or there or will focus on high leverage, short relief situations.
ETA: If by the end of the season we end up with one or two guys that can go three times through a line up, we will be an Omaha team.

Where is the TD tailgate being held for Game 1 vs. Maine? Adam4848 said non-elites aren’t allowed in his VIP lot.

That’s a good way of putting what I was trying to say. The guys who can get through them twice will start and the plan will only be those two times. They will have a very quick leash even if they make it that far unscathed. After that, it will be hot arm/quick pull. Jay won’t be in wait and see mode ever.

I think guys will have defined roles, but they will be defined differently than in the past. It won't just be starter/reliever/closer.
They will be defined more by how many times they can turn over a line up. And if they can't, how many innings they can throw in an appearance. And how many appearances they can make in a week/weekend.
Reyzelman didn't do well his 2nd time through over the summer. But if his secondary pitches come along, that may not be as big an issue. He could be a 1+ time guy on the back end of a Friday where someone like Fontenot goes 4 innings (2x) and we piece a couple in between.
Lansville is a guy that could develop over the course of the season to go more than 2x. Bryce Collins could be a 2x guy based on what Kelly said recently on a youtube video from Tigertails.

This already happens every season with everything related to baseball.
I'm excited to see what the pitching game plan will be. Especially, the coaches talking about having one of your better guys come in and pitch around the 7th and not really have a serious closer guy sounds really interesting to me.

If Doughty picks up where he left off in the fall then I agree. He was the best hitter on the team this fall. Saw pitches well and was very comfortable at the plate.
I know Dunn was a well respected pitching coach, but to this day I still think he asked his pitchers to do things sometimes they just weren't capable of doing.
I like what I have seen from the new coaches.
