Zach Watson got sick and won't play tomorrow night.

Dugas will likely start tomorrow.

Me too. But mine was from giving the air jerk off sign to so many of the predictable responses.

I 100% believe you but is there a link to an article about all of this stuff?

if you dont pray to the intimidator you aren't allowed to point out obvious patterns of arm abuse at lsu
so what exactly is dunn doing to abuse these arms?

Player pitches, tells coaches his arm is sore, MRI is done and finds no damage, coaches sit player as a precaution. ABUSE!!!!

They do...to an extent. This is clearly an extreme case of injuries. I don't know what the problem is, but its definitely frustrating.

Wilson Alexander & James Moran

Paul Mainieri says Cole Henry was going to move to Friday nights and Zack Hess was going to the bullpen. Obviously that’s out the window now #LSU

WOW

quote:

Zach Watson got sick and is driving separately to Alabama. Mainieri doubted he will play tomorrow. #LSU

quote:

Paul Mainieri thinks it could be just simple fatigue for Cole Henry. He’ll throw some this weekend on his own and could return to the rotation next weekend

quote:

Paul Mainieri said he thinks Chris Reid will play tomorrow. #LSU

quote:

Chris Reid is ready to go and will be in the lineup at third base tomorrow night, Paul Mainieri said. Zach Watson is sick, apparently, so he couldn’t practice yesterday. Probably won’t be in the lineup tomorrow night, but his injury is believed to be healed

quote:

Hal Hughes is at limited availability. Would only play defense against Alabama
I’m ok with this
quote:

Todd Peterson volunteered to start Sunday with Henry out, but Paul Mainieri feels he’s too valuable to the bullpen. Nobody but Landon Marceaux will he held out of the first two games

quote:

The catching situation is fluid at this point. Saul Garza has “distinguished himself” defensively (will have a story on that up in a bit) but Paul Mainieri has concerns about his stamina.

Will Davis of Lamar said this week that he has 7 pitchers out with sore or injured arms.

Wouldn't be surprised moving forward if lsu isn't able to sign these highly drafted pitchers.

You'd have to be NUTS to let your son go there until they prove they can keep arms healthy.

I may be the only one but that just struck me as humorous.

"Zach, you're welcome to go to Alabama but you've got to find your own transportation. You can't sit on the bus and get all of us sick."

I know this isn't strictly an LSU issue, but are pitchers more fragile today than in years past? Or, are coaches more cautious?

It's both. Pitchers are overused when they're young and college coaches are also more cautious given how many unknowns there still are among medical professionals with arm injuries and what exactly causes them. Back before advances in medical science, I do believe pitchers pitched through injuries much, much more than they do today. Additionally, travel ball is also a lot more involved than it ever was 20 years ago. But, hell, 30+ years ago many of these injuries pitchers suffer were much more career threatening than they are today, so many pitchers would just pitch until they physically couldn't any longer.

Add to all of this, kids are throwing and train to throw a lot harder now, which just adds more stress to their arms.
