I know this isn't strictly an LSU issue, but are pitchers more fragile today than in years past? Or, are coaches more cautious? It seems like any small hint of discomfort sends a pitcher to the bench. Certainly safety is paramount, but starters in the SEC get more rest than even professional pitchers. So it's not like they are seemingly being "overworked".
Perhaps my memory is just foggy with age, but I don't recall pitchers being so delicate 15, 20, 25 years ago
