Colby Richardson interview on Culotta
Posted by Captain Crown

Listening as I type! Please forgive any grammatical errors
LINK
-Coach Frank called he could come back home which was the biggest thing for his last year
-During original recruitment was first looked at as a WR but he had the talent to play DB. Everyone can play WR not everyone can play DB.
-Frank was a great HC to him. Teaches how to overcome adversity.
-Was overwhelmed at first and had to pray on it about coming to LSU.
-Relationship with BK is good we have our little giggles. Tries to stay off Coaches radar for the most part. Do the things right. If a coach is always talking to you you're not doing your job
-Laughed when BK called him Cody Dickerson
-First reports of LSU camp that Jordy got was that Colby was going to play a lot and possibly even start. Now BK has mentioned it in pressers
-Played football for 20 years as he is now 24 years old. He has 6 months to do the thing he loves. Taking advantage of this opportunity. Whether he's playing with the 1's or the 2's or even special teams.
-Jordy saw him live against Boutte and he held his own. Going against #7 is going against the Biletnikoff winner. Iron sharpens iron.
-Having some lockdown moments against #7 for sure can boost your confidence.
-167 pounds coming in which has changed drastically. He is now 197 pounds. Wants to play at 195-200.
-Nutrition specialist staff is amazing. Couldn't get there without them. The resources that we have at LSU are amazing. Coach Franks and staff have a plan for each individual to get where they need to be.
-Coach House and Coach Steeples are great people. They care about you off the field first. On the field they are mentors. They want to put you in the right position.
-The defensive side has an attitude and they're all coming together.
-Locker room full of experience from outside programs. All have different traits and specialties. We're working collectively as a unit. We have the CB's to be able to rotate.
-Scrimmages have been fun. Guys are cutting up and having fun flying around.
-Front four are incredible. You're going to have a long day going against them. Since we can rotate the back end we're going to make teams reconsider how you want to approach us.
-Both QB's bring something and both are talented. They carry themselves as leaders. Can't go wrong with either one.
-#5 can move and is sneaky with his speed once he decides to take off.
-Being 24 years old has its advantages. Been through adversity and lived a lot of life and football.

Love these stories. Growth mindset and overcoming challenges. I hope he kicks some arse on the field this fall!

Recommend this as a listen. He seems to have a great mindset and perspective so you can see how he has gotten from McNeese to starter at LSU.

He's from New Orleans, but LSU is his home? I get it for the guys that were out of state, but do they consider Lake Charles to be in Texas?
Now that he's a Tiger, he will always have a home in Baton Rouge. Definitely pulling for him...

Can the nutrition staff help me drop 20-30lbs as easy as they help these kids put it on? So fast it’s crazy

Thanks for the notes. Great stuff

That's what you took from this?
It was the first line of the OP. I thought that maybe he's from Baton Rouge, so I checked. It turns out that he's from New Orleans. I don't find that to be of critical importance, but I find it odd. I brought it up on TD, not in a letter to BK.
It's great to see that the TD Gestapo will let us know which questions can be asked.

I’m not sold on a 24 year old as being a diamond in the rough that nobody has found.
