Because they haven't. But there is evidently somewhat of a problem going on in the dugout, that has only escalated more after the comments and actions today. Which is terrible timing as we have our two most important weeks ahead of us.

How do you know anything has escalated after today?

No, no. Just because the team does not see him as a leader, that is not a knock on him. Some players are leaders and some are not. It does not have anything to do with their ability, desire, competitiveness, etc.

It's a knock on him as a leader.

I'm only going by what you said earlier...that Mainieri's decision to label Bregman the leader has been a huge negative for this team.

I'm still struggling to find another position player that would have been a better choice (or viable choice) though. Ibarra?

That was just an assumption. But it would strike me as probable after the comments Coach made today about Glenn.

Whaa...?

Cody Glenn transferring is not a problem nor does it escalate one.

Said "if" and it will be apparent. Auburn is terrible. You can't go sweep them with some fire in the gut and past LSU kick arse glory then something's wrong

Ibarra or Moore. Ibarra might be too laid back. Moore is the natural choice if you ask me. Older guy, good ball player.

The good thing is that we still have a lot to play for.

When I am at the games ( and I make as many or more than you do) I see the interaction between players and between players and coaches and form my opinions. I also have friends/relatives who attend LSU and are friends with players. Also, I am of the age where I have friends who have sons on the team. I take all this info and form opinions, rather than just listening to what I am told at Coach's Committee meetings.

I haven't missed a home game in three seasons.

I don't form opinions (rumors) like the ones you have expressed in this thread by watching players from the stands. I form them based on having conversations with the players and coaches. I've talked with Moore more than any other player on the team this year. I've never had a conversation with Bregman.

I'm surprised and disappointed in your comments in this thread. I didn't take you to be a Rant rumor monger.

Ideally, the team leader would need to be an everyday player.

He's not. There are multiple people here that can vouch for him.

I wouldn't say anything is evident

Again, you are making some leaps here. There is nothing to indicate that this news is going to have a negative impact.

Sometimes a shakeup like this can be a positive for a team...especially if Glenn was a guy who let his feelings be known to the other players.

But some rumors on the Rant are true.

Not all, but some.

OK, I'll agree on that point.

A coach should not tell the team who their leaders are. Don't you see that this could cause issues, particularly when the chosen one does not perform very well and calls out other players in tweetdom?

I'll say it again. I don't know who it should have been, but it should not have been chosen by Coach.

Well that only leaves Bregman. And there we go.

Do you think Foster and Moore will be on the team next year?

TigerCub, I agree.

With that being said we're about to see how Bregman, Moore, McMullen, Ibarra, and Scivique react to playing for a regional and basically the chance to control their destiny this postseason.

If none of the 5 players listed above start to find a hot streak LSU will not make it out of a regional, it's the raw truth.

Moore hadn't really done much heading into the season. Ibarra had way more skins on the wall.

I think it's a pretty big stretch to think that Moore was a guy who would emerge as a leader.

If you are one of them, it doesn't enhance his credibility.
