Shores had his surgery mid April, I believe puts him back in the postseason. "We are only going to use them if we have to".

Still very disappointed for the kid. He is probably going to leave just like Grant Taylor for the draft, leaving us with 2 quality pitchers who we didn't get to really see at their best.

That would be pretty difficult unless they suddenly change the draft rules.

Shores has his whole JR year to pitch at LSU. He is a 2025 draft prospect lol

I swear I thought he was a draft eligible sophomore like Kling and Jared Jones. I'm glad to be wrong then should see major contribution his Junior year then.

Excellent recap Wild. Thanks for doing this.

Jay said that his 1st priority in facility upgrades is building an indoor infield practice diamond and will outfit with a drop down netting system to provide double duty as batting cages. Once that is completed they will turn the whole existing batting cage into an expanded pitching lab.

Said bullpens will be moved just behind out field walls with no further details on exact placement or how it will affect current bleacher seating.

Said he was excited to have brought Terry Rooney back although he is overqualified for the position he's in on current staff. One of the best recruiters in the business. Rooney and Jordan not present and were on the road recruiting.

Said that while watching film and preparing for Alabama series he thought that Holman had better stuff than Dollander and would give our batters trouble. Jokingly thanked him for having a back injury to keep him out of our series with the Tide.

Said that although it will be near impossible to replace drafted players of the caliber of this past season, next years lineup should be more balanced. Will adapt style of play to whatever the upcoming roster dictates. Mentioned that when he took his Arizona team to CWS finals that team lead the nation in sacrifice bunts.

When asked when they would hang a new championship banner in the indoor facility acknowledged that it will be coming but he personally called and demanded that the facility manager have the intimidator billboard hastily updated before the team and fans arrived home from Omaha.

Jay said that the morning after the final CWS game, he woke up after an hour and a half of sleep and went down to the stadium and basically trespassed to get in. Sat and watched the sun come up from the dugout that he'd won the national championship in just hours earlier. Said it was the most beautiful sunrise he's ever seen. Yep he's that dude.

6'9" Pitcher Mavrick Rizy is showing committed on the recruiting board. Perhaps that was the phone call reference.
