Ejection happened. He came out of the dugout to ask about the warning to his coach, not to argue balls and strikes.
I would say that “you missed three pitches” after the warning was clearly arguing balls and strikes. Maybe it’s just me…

You argue balls and strikes, you get tossed. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. This is true in college, the minors, and the majors. Spring training or world series. Most managers are smart enough not to do it in such a big game.

ONLY is you take out the context of the coaches getting warned prior.
Schnell said himself in his post-game presser that he came out because he didn’t hear the warning. He asked the ump what the warn8ng was for and the ump told him “for argu8ng balls and strikes” to which Schnall responded “because you’ve already missed 3.” That is what got him ejected. What a dumb frickin response. He was asking to get ejected with a response like that.

The umpire told him to go back to the dugout 3 times. The coach is supposed to be a grown up and realize when he is taking it too far. When the ump tells you to stop 3 times and you don't its FOAFO time. Then the 1st base coach mouths off again. This is not Sunbelt umpires you can boss around.
