What do you guys think O meant when he said this is his favorite freshman class ever? Was he just including his years as a head coach at Ole Miss and LSU or was he including his classes at USC under Pete Carroll? How about when he was at Miami?

His 2003 class at USC was pretty nasty with Reggie Bush and Lendale White among others.

You'd have to ask O. Anything else is speculation.

You mean the class that never won a game while at USC?

Pretty smart of him to distance himself from that drama.

Lol

I know they won
You know they won
Their fans know they won

It doesn't matter what the NCAA declares, they don't get to forfeit the excitement their fans felt during that run and our hatred of USC during that run.

Hopefully he means that this class is talented, yet hard working, smart, is completely bought in, know how to follow directions, and don't mind at all playing what ever part is needed for the team. GT

Perhaps. But it would be wise for O to let Carroll take the credit for that class.

If they pan out he can look like a great recruiter and if they dont and the season goes sour he can talk about how much new blood we have coming into the program and how that freshman class will bring us to the next level

thats media coaching 101

It's his first freshman class at his dream job as head coach and he's finally getting a second chance. His future is largely tied to this class. He pretty much has no choice but to go all in with this class.

While this could well be a really well-constructed PR ploy on the part of CEO (doubtful), the constant stream of positive news about this class from a variety of sources (from the stories of young OL stepping up to CEH running wild to the play of K. Chaisson and the young DBs) I'm extremely encouraged.

This is an exceptional class...especially defensively.

So Shelvin is cleared or Juco bound? I'm confused.

That's what I thought at first but this article cheers me up: LINK

When seniors are saying this is the quickest learning class they've seen, it makes me reeeeaaaally excited ??

He'll say this every year.

It's just part of his gimmick. What do you think, next year he'll say, "well, this one isn't quite as good as last years."

Should be this LSU class. Many freshman will be starters or having playing time. Team says K'Lavon one of the best edge rushers they've ever seen. Plus Delpit, Harris and Vincent may all be starters. Other freshmen making impact on O line as well

Brennan
Clyde the Glide
Stevens at WR
Phillips
Chaisson
Vincent
Delpit
Harris

All appear to be really good already. Great nucleus to build on and there are strengths at every level on both sides of the ball already

Because its his first freshman class as head coach at LSU. But it isn't. It's mostly Les's class but let's not let that get in the way of some decent propaganda.

I don't know about that. I just went back and looked at SC's class from 03. There is a very large number of prominent players from that class that went on to play in the NFL.

Plus there were some pretty good college stars like John David Booty.
