So Dellinger can walk in as a true freshman and compete for playing time, and Kardell Thomas isn't yet ready to compete? Time to cut bait and run with this guy!

I don't mean to pile on the kid, but he got smoked just about every time he had to cover more then 10-15 yds last year. You can't tell me he won't be a primary target for every opponent. Our safeties are going to have to be able to pick guys up, and our line HAS to pressure.

Flott was fine his freshman year in a more limited role. Last year he spent as much time trying to cover outside as a backup when Stingley and Ricks were hurt, which he definitely wasn’t ready for. He’ll be fine as a nickel with a DC who doesn’t leave him hanging out to dry because the has his head up his arse.

Flott played pretty well the last 3 games or so.

Mike Jones is getting use to dealing with 350 offensive linemen as opposed to covering TE in the slot.

This is concerning and sounds like a cover for something else.

How is this possible?

Because of the fatness.

I just want Flott to put on a little weight. Kid looked like 160 lbs out there

That was the most surprising thing I read also.

That’s his problem. He covers better than Stingley until there is contact, and he has not been big enough to hold his own through that. Stingley and Ricks, and even McGlothern, dominate the contact.

Jones played a hybrid safety role at Clemson and is trying to adjust to being a stack LBer. He has stated multiple times that is why he transferred. I guess Clemson was stacked at that position.

I would expect an adjustment period. He will play this year, but he's just not the plug in day 1 starter a lot of people expected.

Great athlete...just needs some time to adjust to a new position.

He seems very open to learning the position this year.

Seems like next year will be the sweet spot with him.

He is running at best 5 at linebacker.
