- Oline is making improvements. Gashed the defense in the running game recently.
- Oline has some guys banged up
- Xavier Hill, Marlon Martinez, Kardell Thomas, and Marcus Dumerville aren't ready to play in the SEC but they've made a step in the right direction
- Savion Jones has made some progress. Going to be an excellent player for us.
- Ali Gaye is unblockable right now
- Xavier Carter reminds him of Arden Key
- Devonta Lee has had a good camp and is coming along. Ed proceeds to name about every receiver on the roster. No one has stepped up to be that #2 receiver yet.
- Nuss is night and day from the spring. Making excellent throws and moving the second team offense.
- Kiner and Goodwin are shining. Faulk done a great job with the group.
- Jared Small is the first linebacker mentioned. Bugg Strong, Baskerville, and Clark also mentioned. Mike Jones is getting use to dealing with 350 offensive linemen as opposed to covering TE in the slot.
- Nickle position is awfully important against the spread offense. Flott is as important as Stingley or Ricks for this defense. Flott is "definitely" the starter.
- Lewis and Ryan backing up Flott
- Doesn't look like Stingley will get offensive snaps due to lack of practice
- Most of the injuries are sore hamstrings and sprained ankles and feet. Expect to have almost everybody ready to go for game week
- Already game planned for UCLA over the summer. Will tweak some things based on personnel.
- spoke for several minutes on tiger football players of the past and how important it is for those guys to be close to the program and for the team to know about the great accomplishments of past players.

I'm hearing that Mike Jones will play a lot of nickle with Cordale Flott this season, as the same time he continues to cross train to learn the inside linebacker position.

I don't mean to pile on the kid, but he got smoked just about every time he had to cover more then 10-15 yds last year. You can't tell me he won't be a primary target for every opponent. Our safeties are going to have to be able to pick guys up, and our line HAS to pressure.
