“There ain't many”.
First true thing you’ve said, it just so happens to be the opposite of what you usually say.

“In LSU history”
If you say so. I’m not going to take the time to verify it. What I do know is that our yards per game and scoring per game was less than what we had in 2015. And as you know, that was pretty much frowned upon by most LSU fans but now less production than what we had in 2015 is underrated.
Honestly, I was expecting a lot more from our offense three years after a coaching change that was made at least partially due to poor offensive performance. Perhaps next year will be different. There is always a chance.

In support of Lonnie4LSU: answering the quote from Roger in Context with Offensive Scoring Efficiency which has trended down for last 4 yrs since 2015 as you often point out.
You use yearly passing stats like yardage and completion % to say the Passing game is better or improving when it is not. There were a record number of atts/gm, but through the ALA game the Passing Offense was last in the SEC and ranked 118th, below Rice. The entire Scoring Off ranked 120th for the year to that point.
You might consider that there were Zero TDs/4 INTS for the toughest 4 games: FLA, MSST, GA, ALA which left the Passing Game ranked last in the entire FBS. Zero is Zero. Those were legit pass Defenses/Secondary.
Burrow also had Zero TDs in the Miami, La Tech Games, and 1 vs ARK & AUB. That is the most inconsistent Pass Production ever posted. But the yearly stats for yards were up, and we were #1 in Redzone Futility, and FGs.
But we ranked near the bottom of the FBS in TDs/Possession, Pts/Play, Pts/Min - measures of Scoring Efficiency.
The Alleva Benchmark for LSU -Miles and O - has always been "Competing for Championships" not "In the Hunt"....for Miles 5-3 was seen as 'the decline is real'. Now finishing 5-3, lower in Off Scoring, and suffering a 29-0 beatdown, the worst home defeat in 44 yrs for a Top 5 team against the Gatekeeper of the SECW is Exceeding Expectations, 'We're Comin" and "Participation Trophy Time".
2018: 7th place finish in Off in SEC,
2017:9th,
2016: 10th,
2015: 6th
0 pts vs Ala in last 2 home games with O&E
0-6 vs Saban, Mullen, Fisher
6th Place Finish in Off in SEC - Best in last 4 years
5-3 SEC record
32.8 pts/gm in 2015 which was 6th in SEC vs tougher SOS and tougher SEC

Well we threw for 2900 yards last year and got another 400 yards rushing out of the position
While some things still need to be improved I feel that's pretty good production from a first year starter The efficiency still need to be improved byput that's the 4th best passing year (yardage) in LSU history.

Which says more about our history than the year.
But I’ll admit it’s a good thing we’re at least passing the ball.
We need to do it better
Brining in Brady does make me feel like we’re trying.
Also I’ve just decided he’s an RPO savant. I havent Really seen anything to suggest that besides that he worked at Penn State

There was a posse that was never happy with Miles and no amount of winning would change that.
We're on the same path here with a Orgeron. Some different people, some the same.
Agreed. There are those that to this day say that they knew in the 05 Tennessee game that Miles was getting fired 11 years later after 114 wins and an NC and two SEC titles
For the record, I wasn’t a fan of the Miles hire either. I wanted a big name like Davis, Erickson, or the ol ball coach.
But Miles won big right out of the gate, and handled the Hurricane season admirably.
He won me over quickly, and I supported him later in his tenure because of what we’d already seen he was capable of.
Obviously, I did not like the O hire (hear me out admins). I thought we needed an offensive minded HC (didn’t we all???) FINALLY after all of the struggles with Miles in that department (even as a supporter I can admit that).
But I was wrong about Miles and became one of his strongest supporters. I will happily admit if I’m wrong about O as well. I WANT TO BE.
But the problem is O didn’t charge out the gate the way Miles did. Last September was about as bad as it gets, and while the rest of the season was ok, and this season had some damn fine moments, my concern has always been how will he fare against the toughest competition on our schedule. Those results have been downright scary.
He can recruit well enough to keep us coasting around 9 wins (especially as long as Aranda is here), but is he the guy we need on gameday when we need a tactical advantage over very good coaches like Jimbo, Mullen, and obviously Saban.
I just haven’t seen that yet. And we’ve seen over 30 games so far.
I’ve quieted down because I honestly believe and have said here that he’s done as good a job setting up this season as he ever will (similar to Miles going into 2016 when I said it was put up or get out time for him).
I felt like we underachieved by a game in 16, 17, and 18 so far under O. But I agree those teams weren’t truly ready to challenge for a CFP spot anyway, so the results weren’t imperative at that time. It was building to now.
This team should challenge for a playoff spot. 100%. The talent is there. Is the staff able to get the most out of them?
11-1, even if we get left out, would be a resounding success and no one will say a word about O if this team gets there (unless it’s a meltdown reflective purely on the coaching like many still say 1/9 was).
But if we don’t get there this year, we surely aren’t the next year, and we really do become next year U.
I don’t start threads bashing O. But I do jump in when I see people trying to revise or enhance what we’ve witnessed so far. If people want to talk about the roster or the games going forward, I’ll be as optimistic as anyone. I love this team and Burrow will go down as one of my favorite Tigers of all time.
But there isn’t any need to tell me that what I’ve seen is something different than what it actually was.
Sure, getting to the Fiesta bowl is a big positive. But had we taken care of business in 2016 against Florida we would have already been in the Sugar, and probably another NY6 last year if we don’t lose to Troy and at least show up against MSU. Getting there in year 3 doesn’t erase the missteps in Year 1 and 2, especially when we had to sneak in because we lost the last game of the year when we controlled our own destiny to get there (bad officiating aside, there were many other chances to win that game that we didn’t take advantage of).
Still, despite how we got here, the biggest prize is now absolutely within reach.
This is my honest position on where we are and why I may have come off as negative. But the future is bright if the staff can do what they were hired to do.
Hopefully the admins will allow it as I feel like I’m being as respectful as possible and not trying to antagonize in any way. Just trying to move the conversation past “posi” and “nega”.
As a peace offering, I offer you all a hearty Geaux Tigers!!
