Except we’re getting similar results 10-3 is a very similar result to 9-3

10-3 Ole Miss is very similar to 10-3 Florida
9-4 A&M is very Similar to 8-5 Arkansas.

So back to back 3rd place finishes in the West is trending up? That’s exactly where we finished Miles last 2 seasons.

We are a year removed from the dire move of having to fire the most winningest coach in school history. One who did not leave the roster in shape that allows LSU to play up to the lofty expectations the program was once held to.

right, it was the lack of talent that resulted in us losing to Troy and State. I forgot that this is the hill you are willing to die on.

Don't stop there, sammy.

The Advocare Texas bowl is very similar to the Fiesta bowl too, right?

Finishing 6th in the final poll is similar to finishing 16th, right?

what other words of wisdom do you have?

2017 we finished ranked 18th. I would say the 2014 season when we went from preseason 13th to finish 8-5 and unranked was worse.

This is all true, but you better tread lightly around Lester. He's liable to lump you in with other posters he doesn't like.

Miles was expected to win championships and didn’t

That’s why he was fired

Terribly wrong. Miles lost 5 of 9 games and had one of the worst passing offenses in the country 2 straight years, and it showed no signs of improvement.

The bowls aren't similar, but the opponents were.

Finishing 6th is pretty darn good. Even during a time when college football is so watered down.

2014: unranked Music City bowl
2015: 16th Texas Bowl
2018: 6th Fiesta Bowl

You're just going to have to me ve off you're bitterness at Miles being fired and go forward, or watch Kansas.

It's been over for a couple of years

The fiesta bowl we played in doesn’t carry the same weight as when it did in the BCS era

2014 we played the 7th toughest schedule in college football. Our losses were to a 10-3 Mississippi State team, Auburn on the road, Alabama, Arkansas, and Notre Dame in the bowl game. We also beat 11-3 Wisconsin and a hot Ole Miss team.

In 2017, we played the 27th toughest schedule in college football. We lost to the mighty Troy, by 30 to Mississippi State, to Alabama, and Notre Dame. We beat 2 teams with a winning record that year.

Our wins came against teams with a combined 46-64 record. Our conference wins came against teams with a combined conference record of 21-31.

All because of outside perceptions

You want to take expectations out of the equation but you also want to pretend there is some objective reason a 9-3 team went to Fiesta and a 8-3 went to the Texas Bowl.
