Could have or would have?

What do you think?

Harris had a passer rating of 8 in the Wisconsin game. We were driving and could have scored, but the passing game failed.

I don't think it's a stretch to say 131 yards, one TD and two INTS were to blame for the loss.

Yeah I don't know what's wrong with that guy.

Him losing is what got him fired, yet the idiots say he got fired because he wouldn't change his offense. Are they related? Of course, but if he had another second, he's probably still here, with the same offense. Obviously, that suggests that winning was the primary determining factor and not the offense.

I've stopped responding to ben for behavior like that. At some point, as much fun as it is fighting with guys like this, cutting them off entirely from the conversation by simply ignoring them might be a good move.

there are some moves that are so dishonest that even if they don;t garner an official time out by the site, maybe they do from fellow posters who simply refuse to engage with them?

f he'd have won 4 games...it would have, by definition...been good enough to have won those 4 games. You know...because they would have won them.

That's not exactly true. You can win games with poor offensive performances and Miles won many games with defense, special teams and field position.

I just keep wondering why we are still having discussions about Miles v Orgeron nearly 3 years after Miles was terminated? The title of this thread is that "Coach O is Crushing It" which he is in terms of recruiting. He just lead the Tigers to a 10 win season and Top 10 finish. The 2019 season looks to be promising with high expectations. Shouldn't that be celebrated instead of having pissing contests about Miles v Orgeron?

Completely different situations.

Not even related.

The offense had the chance to win the Wisky game in the final minute.

Now you tell me what happened

Only because the assumption is that that better passing game would lead to more wins.

If Les had the Number 1 passing offense in 2016, but still started 2-2, he is still no longer here.

Exactly. Rodger is acting like they are tied at the hip.
He has already said he thinks miles is fired even if we start 4-0.

I think everyone agrees that it could have helped. Seems like you've been saying that it would have been a definite win simply because of the passing game and therefore wouldn't have gotten the man fired. We have no idea how the game would have played out with field positioning or turnovers due to passing more. More passing doesn't equal an automatic win IMO.

Which is why people are saying the wins and losses matter most, not the offense when it comes to why Miles got fired. A more pass centric offense doesn't guarantee that Miles would have kept his job.

The fact that you think the offense didnt have this in a&m just completely puts your bias on display.

I would bet money that it was a loyalist of the HC that brought up Miles to tear him down so that the coach looks better.

Has anyone disputed that they are related? Am I losing my mind here?

No one has disputed it.

You may be losing your mind trying to follow Roger's warped logic.

I can buy this. At first thought I agreed with Rick, but one team needed the score to win and the other did not. I think you make a good point.
