AGAIN. If he fails, he gets fired, extension or not.

Don't be stupid. If he doesn't perform he gets fired.

No. The school should show no confidence in its HBC, that always works well to attract top recruits.

Surely you are not that stupid. His contract has years remaining. He’s supposed to be the best recruiter in the game. This isn’t about recruiting, this is about the guy that hired him trying to affirm his own decision.

Coach O has not succeeded relative to the standard unless you are moving the goal post as to what the expectation is here.

Fire 10 win guy to hire 9 win guy and reward the later with more money and time is, at best, a sign of incompetence, and at worst malfeasance.

Surely you’re not that stupid. He’s recruiting 2020 guys that won’t graduate until potentially 2025. All schools keep their HBC under long term contracts, and almost all schools eventually fire their HBC - with their long term contracts in hand.

ETA: and within weeks will be heavily working on the 2021 class.

I have no problem with a 3 year extension, my problem are the stupid high buyouts that Alleva gives, it ties our hands if we need to fire him

If Alleva gives O an extension it's time for a revolt. Off with Alleva's head

If that’s actually the case, why not give him a 10 year contract extension? Why only a 4-5 year contract to begin with? Why not take the man at his word on his own recruiting prowess?

Because HS juniors don’t care about 10 years from now.

You can’t even see your own circular reasoning. By your reasoning, as long as O wins 9 per year, every year he should get an extension.

As long as he only wins a little less than Miles, we should retain and extend.

It’s what most schools do. ADs usually show support for their coaches even when they struggle. You don’t think rival coaches are pounding on Auburn’s commits every day right now?

Most schools also don’t expect to win the SEC or fire coaches that average 10 wins because they expect more.

Nah. Just terrible grammer. Used the wrong symbol.

1/4. Out of LSU's 4 hardest games, they only won one.
