I came here to read about it and was surprised to see there wasn't a thread about it, unless I am overlooking it, but I even searched and nothing came up.
BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
Johnny Jones has received his first commitment as head coach of LSU, a week after taking over the Tiger basketball team.
According to ESPN's Gary Laney, the new head coach secured a letter of intent from Shavon Coleman, a Howard College and former Thibodaux High School basketball star.
The 6'6", 195 pound Coleman will help fill a big void for the Tigers after the departures of Storm Warren and Justin Hamilton.
Coleman averaged 14.6 points and 6.8 rebounds as a sophomore for Howard.
Coleman was being recruited by LSU, Oregon State, Oklahoma and Texas Tech, among others.

Damn, I don't really go to the recruiting board and thought this would be considered news beyond recruiting.

Why would you assume that? It's recruiting news.

Once someone commits I figured that goes beyond the discussion of recruiting (although I can see how it doesn't).

There's about 5 threads on it on the recruiting board.

Technically LSU has not had an official press release about it.

If he is a good player, I'm happy for it. But, shouldn't the kid put on at least a little bit of weight? This dude's skinny.

C'mon man, you better than that.

Coleman is the 8th ranked juco player. Hammink signed too, a top euro prospect.

What will it take for some of you to get behind our coach?
Oh, and don't forget, will probably be getting the Hammink twins next year: Ryan and Nick.

This isn't football, and he isn't a 6'10 guy. Not sure where you are getting this from

TJ was probably getting them regardless, but they are still good players.
