Coach Jay was quoted as saying this about Crews.

“Dylan Crews is the best baseball player I’ve ever seen,” Johnson said. “Not just the best college baseball player, the best baseball player at any level.”
I’d say that’s high praise

He’s Mike Trout playing against college kids

Yep. I heard him say that to Bill on the radio.
That's some high praise right there. I have to agree with him.

I tried watching him interact some while at the park in Round Rock and he doesn’t act like anyone different. He is really kinda unassuming but an obvious stud no doubt. Just goes about his business as usual does everything exactly the way the most highly skilled player does at everything he did does. If that makes sense. lol
*Side note . Watching a game last year I remember an important game Dylan slid into home and there was not another player on the planet that would have tagged safe. But he did.
I thought I’d never seen anything like it but after I better understood the 5 Tool player meaning and how being one means all aspects of the game.
I love me some Tanks but don’t see him attacking the plate with such precision. Ha

So we possibly have the best player in baseball ever playing for us and possibly one of the best college pitchers of all time on our team too? SHIP!!!!

Nope. And he's a throwback, big, mean, smasher as clean up hitter. That punishment he put on Arkansas for pitching around Dylan was extremely satisfying

I sure would enjoy watching him Pete Rose the catcher against Tennessee just for good measure this weekend.

From all indications, he is just a really kind guy as well. Sounds like he was raised right.

Seems so, I was in Round Rock and sat (accidentally) in the players family section. Joberts, Edward’s, Crews and Thomsons and sounds like Crews Dad has an RV and they go to every game together. Very nice people.
Supporting family in life is a key to a good start. Sounds like he had support enough to be able to go to college instead of needing the money right away and missing this awesome developmental time while in school living life as well.

He belongs in MLB, not playing college ball. He's beyond absurd.

I said the other day that Crews was as good as Mike Trout was at the same age and, I know Mike Trout was in the big leagues at the same age, but I have no doubt that Crews would be as good as Mike Trout was if Crews was a rookie in the big leagues

One of the talking heads, covering the mid week game, said he had talked to an assistant coach earlier in the day. The coach told him that, after the Texas game, Crews was the last one out of the showers / locker room. Crews walked down to the LSU fan section & spent a good 20-30 minutes signing autographs & posing for pictures. His family also buys a set of 4 season tickets & gives them to the families of disabled children.

LOL just no.

Could this be a slight overstatement?

Some guys can just play and when they work hard and have a great head on their shoulders you get big leaguers.
Crews was blessed by God with outrageous ability and knows how to use it. That’s more rare than you think.

In what way?
You might have ask Jay since he said it, but at this point I’ll take his word.

I enjoy watching him in the on deck circle before his at-bat. He gets into position just as he does when he’s batting, on every pitch. He watches the pitcher intensely during his wind up, analyses exactly what pitch and where the pitcher is pitching to. He anticipates every single pitch as if he’s batting. I don’t see other players do what he does with the intensity he has prior to going up to bat.
He’s ultra prepared every single time he goes up to bat.

Yeah I mean he is is a Cyborg in a lot ways. He almost shows no emotion at times but sometimes when your that special you don’t even realize yet how great you really are.
