Why can’t we be critical? He said he would fix the offense, instead it has gotten worse. It’s the same problems that plagued the previous coach. We underachieved. As an LSU fan, I want this fixed.

An OC would’ve been tremendously better than what we have now. With an offense, our chances of winning the SEC greatly increases.

Should he hire another OC next year it will be an admissio.

This thread should be stickied instead of the coach of the year semi finalist. This one based in reality, the other based on exceeding low expectations.

Offense could have been better in my opinion but without coach O bringing in a new culture and attitude along with everything else this program would still be treading water.

My guess is the DV’s are because everyone is so damn tired of this exact post. You have added nothing new to the conversation. Go click on page 2 below, you’ll find this thread again. Go upvote that persons “idea” that was worth venting about. Then go to page 3, 4, 5, etc. you could spend the whole day upvoting people bitching about “best oc” “he lied” It’s tired. :crybaby:

You can be critical all you want, but don't be a little bitch when more level headed people disagree with you.

No argument here on that point.

But we would still be sitting second in the SEC west regardless. Bama out recruits us and everyone else. We will only compete for SEC championships again when our recruiting efforts match the Tide.

You're right, there is no question changes have to be made offensively.

First, I could care less about others expectations but my own. Second, I expected to win ten games this year but realized we could’ve won more with a better OC. We had the defense this year to win ten games.

Hopefully Eaux realizes his mistake and corrects it, but it won’t stop the fact that we wasted a playoff season. I’m NOT calling for Eaux to be fired. I would like him to fix the offense.

The window for winning championships is small and we can I’ll afford to waste our chances like we did this year

Yes I dispute it. You take for granted the wins against miami auburn and georgia. Who is this "good to great" OC that you would've hired going into this season. We definitely need to make a change this offseason in our offensive personnel, but stability and growth were the goals going into this season if we win the next 2 games that has been achieved.

Still can’t answer the question regarding who would start at Bama?

None of what y’all posted has any relevance to what I posted... I never said Eaux shouldn’t be the coach but he has squandered an opportunity to get in the playoffs with either his stubbornness or his inability to hire the best OC. Do any of y’all dispute the fact: if we had a good to great OC that we would be staring at the playoffs with max one loss?

The worst consequence of the stagnant offense was the Florida game. Eaux admitted he blew it on that one. I still think the missed block which caused Burrow's fumble on the second drive changed the entire outcome. You can blame that one on the OL scheme which ultimately goes back to Eaux. Had we gone up 14-0, I think we would have won. But having said that, we not have played the way we did against UGA had the Florida debacle not occurred.

The other day, someone on here made the best statement I've heard yet: Eaux needs to stop bringing in his friends and start bringing in coaches with fresh, modern ideas and schemes.

Possibly but not definite

More importantly, we would be fourth in the polls for a trip to the playoffs. I could live with second as long as we are in the playoffs with the opportunity to play for the championship (think Bama)

Coach Eaux has held us back this year

This is dumb. Even for the most hardcore skeptics, this is asanine. Has he been perfect? No, no coach is perfect. The man has LSU in a position to win 10 regular season games which will likely put us in a NY6 bowl. If you can't be happy with that, then the problem is with you, not the coaches.

Now, if you want to discuss what areas the team needs to improve on in order to be better next season, that can be a productive discussion. But, what you've done here is just plain idiocy.

He may be an idiot, but then again there is some truth to what he said. Sure we beat Georgia but our offense has been erratic along with a mostly bad OL. Ensminger had his hands tied to really show some dinosaur plays but even Bill Walsh and Joe Montana would not have had time to pass against Bama or most of the teams we played. Heck, even La Tech and SEL were handling our OL.

SO, to say he held us back is a two way deal... Sure a flashy OC would have had some great plays and 50 point games but could have easily had a few pics and a bad day for a second loss anyway. No good OC was beating Bama this year, but a combination of a better OC and STRONGER OL & DL needed to protect our QB and disrupt the opponents. I mean you can't let this Tua dude have 5 seconds to throw the ball.

If he would’ve done what he said and hired the best OC in the nation then our offense would’ve been vastly improved from where it is today. With an offense we would’ve beat Florida and legitimately would’ve had a chance to beat Bama. We were a playoff team with an OC this year, instead Eaux wasted another year of LSU making the playoffs.

Yes. Too bad after going 80 yards in the 4th QTR to take a 19-14 lead the offense let Florida's offense go 75 yards to retake the lead..

You are also correct, everyone had this team pegged as a write in playoff team before the season. Considering we were returning 3 starters (Moreau and 2 OL) we were expected to be an offensive powerhouse with new WR starters, elite RBs CEH and Brossette and a first time QB.

Who exactly is the best OC in the nation and how do you get him to come here. After the way you guys and a small but powerful part of our boosters did for. Year and a half... trashing Orgeron and the program. No one was coming. Just like Fisher was never coming. The more U and others right this stuff and boosters say this stuff no one would come again.

Our best chance is to extend Orgeron and bring in Sean Salisbury as a QB coach/ analyst

Changing OC with the nucleus we have is insanity
