Nah, I said it can make somewhat intelligent people look pretty fricking dumb. Lester is coming off as a minimally functional retard ITT.

Take that as you will.

Contrary to what some may think, I don't have anything against Coach O and even bought in last year with the letting the coordinators coach. I am skeptical though after the Canada disaster. But, no one can deny that he's done a good job with the roster and I hope the coaching changes work out. I have my doubts, but I'm gonna wait and see how the first half of the season plays out.

This has been the dumbest offseason I can remember on here. Anti-Os: "Orgeron and Alleva are driving this program into the ground." Pro-Os: "You people are miserable! Cheer for someone else! Eaux is doing great things to build us into winners!" Summer progresses... Anti-Os: "You know, we've made some nice roster moves. Defense should be great. Offense has a lot of potential. We have the talent to win 10 games." Pro-Os: "Whoa, whoa, calm down! Have you seen the schedule?!"

Orgeron always wins the offseason. Every year he's ever been in charge of anything it's the same thing. You get the grandiose promises of the perfect team that he's never come close to. His teams are always something less than the sum of their parts.

A wait and see approach certainly isn't unreasonable. I've seen this enough times with him though. He can change as much as he wants around him. Add staff, add analysts, give jobs to all of his friends and family. But until he changes himself, which I have no indication he's done, I don't know why people expect anything different.

To believe Orgeron will get this done, seriously compete to win the SEC, is to believe head coach doesn't matter in this league. I can't believe that.

I find it hard to dispute any of that and will admit freely that my hope is strictly because he is LSU's head coach.

What many people here apparently expect is for Orgeron to be allowed to be worse than the coach we fired and fans to be ok with it.

Yep. I’ve said it already, O’s accomplishments are intangible. He’s seen some weaknesses and tried to address them. Great, that’s the minimal qualification for the job and nothing every other coach isn’t doing.

What can he do to shepherd the program through the season, particularly when adversity hits? Let’s face it, he’s “learning” on the job with regard to that facet. He’s never proven he can do it, and I have my doubts now.

You just called him the best OC but you are afraid to rank him?

Sounds like they've taken a page out of some of the o lovers playbook. Particularly Ree. But there are a few others who use this exact same strategy. They call o one of the best in the business and what he's done exceptional. But ask them for a prediction or a ranking, and they all head for the hills.

Surely you've noticed this?

What is the record you expect for this season?

Or are you one of those that expects people to fawn over Orgeron and never criticize him, and if the team loses more games than they did under Les, should blame everyone except Orgeron?

O really has done a great job with a lot of these moves

1000%

Some of them don't make sense because of the werthers original hard candy hires, but for every guy with 40 years of experience, he's putting a young buck beside them.

If aranda rides it out, he is going to end up with a wealth of young guys with a lot more experience than their age will indicate.

I was not a fan of the hire. I'm still not. But he's making the changes that have needed to be made for years.

Don't need to save any of them. Just check out Ree's post history since o was named the head coach.

According to ree, every move o has made has been a winning move.
