Clemson wide receiver Tristan Smith received a temporary injunction against the NCAA from a South Carolina judge Friday, clearing the way for him to play this season.

Smith had sued the NCAA in January after the organization denied his waiver for a fifth season of eligibility, arguing the decision was "a hallmark of capricious and arbitrary treatment" based on similar waivers that were granted to former junior college players like himself.

Every day that goes by with nothing being done to rectify the downward spiral of College Sports, I lose more interest.

Sure I’ll still watch the games for now ur right.
But my point is, people will little by little stop caring more and more about irritating things, until they just don’t care enough to make the effort.

That’s the problem

I don’t know his particular case, but why have or follow any rules at this point. It’s disgusting.

Looks like his argument was 2 years at JUCO? Whatever. Maybe he can get a 6th year next season too.

Sure, big games. Like everyone does. You arent too smart if you don't realize that casual customers in ANY industry is a very bad thing.

We have pro football that we already can watch. College was different because it was different. The closer it gets to pro, the lower the interest of the casual fan. Not being able to see that is simply the most myopic view I've ever seen on display.

The more "amateur" status fades..the more people turn away

So your answer to crooked judges interfering is to just shut it down and go completely lawless?

When are you ppl going to quit blaming the NCAA? Breaking away from the NCAA or shutting it down won’t solve the issues. The NCAA was not a perfect organization but it is the body created by the Universities to govern athletics and it worked ( not perfectly) for years. Until everyone started running to a local bought off or self serving judge who would circumvent rules that have been place for years. Crooked judges is the biggest issue not the NCAA.

Exactly. And it was power-drunk judges who started this mess - 9 of them to be exact.

Until the judicial branch got involved we had a great system but players couldn’t be satisfied.

So moral of the story is if something does not go your way just pay off local judge for injunction. Good to know looking at our basketball roster ha!

I didn't watch any football outside of maybe 10 games LSU played. Hard to watch when it's a 80 new players on a team every year. It's the first year I actually didn't bother to know the names of the players on the team. There was no point as they are all off the team now anyway

It’s not the NCAAs fault. They are doing the job they were signed up to do. It’s the individual schools’ fault. Every school signed with the NCAA to abide by the same rules…. Who gives a shite if a Judge grants eligibility.,.. the school/coach can simply deny the player from playing. Case Closed.

All of this is true. It is the fault of local biased judges. It is the fault that the NCAA didn’t get anti-trust exemptions a long time ago. It is the fault of a university that signs on to a set of rules and then refuses to be honorable and follow them. It,s the fault of greedy athletes and their families. It’s the fault of sleazy greedy lawyers who take these cases. It’s the fault of people who supply the money to keep all of this wrong doing going. What does all of this wrong doing have in common? MONEY! The root of the problem. Until we all return to a value system that values honesty and honor over the dollar, we will continue to see more and more previously great things like college football destroyed.

Can we review clemsons last game and see if there are any penalties to disqualify any of their players from the first half?
