This is pointless. A change won’t be made this year unless he wins 2 games or something like that.

You are out ur mind if u think he isn’t toast if he wins 7 games. That Canada debacle really rubbed some BOD people the wrong way. Toast I tell u toast!

He isn't going to be fired after this year if he wins 7 games. People really need to accept that. He would have to have an historically bad year in order to get fired and I just don't see that happening.

I agree with you. And he shouldn't be. People need to accept that this is going to be a rough year, and would have been with ANY coach we hired.

I say this assuming we will play well, but lose some close games.

My criticism of O will come with this years recruiting class (and he has to sign a top QB), and with our record/trend in 2019. I'm ok with giving him 2 years to get things how he wants (as long as we are playing reasonably well). Year 3, it's put up or shut up with no room for error.

I understand most tiger fans don't feel this way. But change is hard. Changing the culture of the offense is hard after Miles. And I don't think most fans get how difficult that is.

None of these coaches will EVER be considered or interviewed for a job at LSU. This guy is just stupid.

Do people honestly believe he would want to come back to BR? That is naive. I understand its his alma mater but its not gonna happen. LSU cant afford him.

Downvote away but thats about as realistic as Saban returning to LSU.

IF there is even a remote chance we make a change at head coach, Aranda is waiting in the wings. /thread

We'll go after the hottest coaching candidate in the country and Joe will whiff and settle on Sylvester Croom.

Would people be happy with this? I would be very underwhelmed. We have no idea if he can run a program based on his resume.

I guess thats better than Orgeron, whose resume proves that he absolutely cant run a program.

Obviously Aranda is a great coach. But, how often does the DC get the job when the HC is fired? Typically, you go to successful teams and look at their coordinators (get them while they are hot mentality).

I just wonder is Aranda is a HC kind of guy. He's very quiet and cerebral. I also don't see him having the closing strength and charisma needed for recruiting. So, it's going to be interesting if it ever gets to that point.

Good lord, with that list we would get NCAA sanctions in 3, 2, 1 . . .

A more accurate statement would be "if O goes 8-4 or better he will not be toast before his 5 years".

If LSU goes 7-5 this year and loses the bowl game to go 7-6 and Orgeron survives that, it will be our worst season since 1999. And, we'll have Ed Orgeron as a our coach. And, that will be okay?

Well why in the fck did O waste a year with Canada then? He had to know what Canada was about scheme wise and personally to an extent right?

No, no one is ever happy with a coaching hire for football. The biggest complaint for O was that he depends on his coordinators. Then you hire one of the best Defensive Coordinators in the business to be head coach and people will say he doesn't have the experience...its always going to be something here.. I personally am a wait and see kinda guy. I also think LSU had to make him some promises other than just more money not to leave...Thats pure speculation though.
