Nah fool. It's called being cautiously optimistic. There's a difference between blind optimism and being cautiously optimistic and by reading the celebratory messages in this thread it looks like most everyone is expressing some blind optimism.
We already have two QBs that have been in the system for a year. Both have been touted as extremely talented and they both have incredible high school accolades... when will we see their talent on the field now? Will they see the field for the first time as a Jr?
The big question for me is what did our coaches tell Joe Burrow to convince him to come to LSU? Must've been something pretty convincing. Joe knows he only has one year left of eligibility...
Is that a sign of a lack of confidence the coaches have in Brennan and Narcisse? If so, why haven't our coaches been able to develop these talented players? Or did they add Joe just to create more competition? (Seems unlikely to me considering he has 1 yr left)
Maybe I'm a little speculative, but I'm going to be cautiously optimistic on this considering the facts here, and not freak out with blind optimism only to be disappointed in four months. I'd rather be cautiously optimistic and proved "wrong" when Joe/Brennan/Narcisse does well than blindly optimistic and be disappointed.

I am not claiming we going to the playoffs because a guy who hasn't done shite in three years of college ball transfers in. I hope he does come and does help, but I am going to wait and see.

Well I didn't know this...... Good work.... He may be the upgrade we need at that position..... Still have unproven RB'S and WR'S though..... It will be an interesting season...

They are both still young and both should have been red shirts. Didn't the system just change coordinators this off-season?
Absolutely possible they still see the field as a RS Sophomore or Junior. There's nothing wrong with seeing the field in your 3rd year as a quarterback.

Probably something along the lines of he has all the tools to be the guy. They like what they see and how he fits into the offense they want.

It's a sign they possibly don't feel comfortable with their lack of experience and progression at this point in time.. Again, nothing too alarming considering they are only in year 2. I get they only have 4 years of eligibility, but the RS helps.
They did not add Joe to create competition. Although, I agree that adding him helps the team no matter what. More competition and more depth. They clearly have visions of him leading this year's team. By all accounts Joe is a very smart guy and leader.

I don't blame you for being cautiously optimistic. Especially given our QB woes.. I still have doubts they could utilize even the best of QBs.. but I am still pumped any time LSU signs a very talented player. I'm going to celebrate the moment.
