With his resume, Joe Burrow has no reason to play in the Senior Bowl, however, his future head coach at Cincinnati will be coaching there. Some analysts are suggesting if Burrow doesn't attend, he may be planning to pull an Eli and sit out the entire season, they asked how can you turn down your future head coach?

He will go - unless he plans on Eli’ing the Bengals

Zero reason for Burrow to play in that game no matter who the coach is.

Considering he has torn cartilage in his ribs, I doubt he’s playing

Playing and attending aren’t the same thing. He can go, attend practices, get a fee for the coaching staff and then not play.

A lot of top of the first QBs have done that. Especially if it’s the coach that will most likely draft you, why wouldn’t you?

I mean this with the greatest respect for Foster Moreau but the Senior bowl is for prospects like him. Go show you belong and possibly raise your stock. Head coach or not, Burrow has absolutely zero reason to be at the Senior bowl. He would actually take some shine away from prospects that need it for their future.

Joe gains nothing by playing. I doubt the bengals coach really cares who plays anyway. He’s coaching the game to get a first hand look at guys flying under the radar. Joe is not one of those guys.

No real reason for him to play. He has nothing more to show, but all the risk of injury.

The coach personally requested Joe attend, but yeah he clearly doesn’t care.

Exactly. Baker Mayfield went a couple years ago for the practices and whatnot, think he might have even played for a bit.

Attending and playing are two different things. Joe might even practice with him. But he ain’t taking any hits or playing at game speed. Too much risk.

Josh Allen went Daniel Jones went. It isn’t shocking for high ranking QBs to go.

Many don’t play, but they go for the practices and whatnot. Even if they do play (Joe probably won’t due to ribs), the game is glorified two hand touch for them. The risk for a QB is ridiculously small.

Now top level non-QB prospects are a bit different.

That’s exactly what I said above. You can attend and not play in the game itself.

It’s your likely potential future boss, why wouldn’t you want the chance to see his philosophy and start getting a feel?

This is the most retarded thing I’ve heard. If the Bengals coach WANTED Joe to play in this game, then I’d have to think he’s a lunatic.

Why in the world would you want your Heisman winning, first pick playing in such a meaningless game.

Well, if Joe doesn't attend at all, consider that a sign from the Burrow family and maybe Carolina staff.
