To be objective, Georgia only dropped one after that beating.

Makes you wonder what’s going on in that committee.
Yes we are #1 and yes we are happy.
But the integrity of the process was very underwhelming this year.

if you pay attention, most years they don’t penalize teams for playing (and losing) in the Conference Championship games.

this isn’t new by any stretch.

This is a dying desire unfortunately. The younger generation just doesn't see it this way. But, I was raised to want the conference to be as strong as possible in order to make LSU look better.

oh yeah, Alabama winning those titles really benefitted LSU, didn’t it?

an SEC team winning a big bowl makes THAT TEAM look better. Which is not always a good thing for LSU.

And Georgia stayed at 5

Yep. Because they don’t really want to punish teams for playing in their conference championship when everyone else sat home.

For some reason, this year, I want all the sec to kick arse in bowls. To show conference dominance. I'd feel much more comfortable with bama playing Baylor in sugar, than ga.

I'm the same, every year. I pull for the SEC teams to simply reinforce who is the big dog on the block and to win the conference takes a herculean effort. I think UGA has something to prove after laying an egg last year vs TX, so Kirby will have them ready. I love Bama being matched up vs Mich; I hope they skull-drag Harbaugh.

No conference championship losers dropped, other teams jumped. Except Utah. Honestly, that’s about right. The only team getting its first challenge was Utah, and I think they shouldn’t dock you for playing a championship game that other teams don’t play.

This committee might’ve not let Bama jump Auburn in 2017.

Correct me if in wrong because I don't follow recruiting closely anymore. Haven't we been recruiting at about the same level as Bama? The talent had been there. Now we have the coaching staff. Blue chip players wanna play against the best and that's why a lot of them choose the SEC.

i agree, but be careful - this board will roast you and say you can NEVER root for an SEC to succeed because it will make recruiting against them even harder.

I always pull for SEC teams. I want to be able to say we play in the toughest conference in the country. It indeed is a source of pride. I don't want us to go 12-0 and all of our opponents go 0-12 (yes, I know that's not possible because someone has to win conference games that other SEC teams play, but you get my drift).

I want it to be like this year, where Georgia, Bama, Florida, Auburn, etc. are all very good. It makes for more compelling games.

Otherwise, why don't we just join the Sun Belt and go 12-0 every year.
