no you are saying the assistants get the credit for success but not for failure...if they get more credit for "heavy lifting" why don't they get more blame for failure? Hell canadas offense early on was getting penalized a ton...O's fault??

Because they’re doing their own job as well as part of Orgerons.

Coordinators shouldn’t have to bear 100% of the responsibility for strategy implementation. That’s why they’re assistants and not head coaches. However, as it turns out in our case, because O has no ability in this aspect of the game, that set up gives LSU the highest probability of success. Real HCs are there to provide counsel for their assistants, but how can O do that when most of those assistants know more than him?

That doesn’t mean O gets a pass. They’re carrying his water, so with failure, he gets more blame cause he’s not pulling his weight as HC.

It's over dumbass!

Why are you so angry about cliffs from a podcast?

Seems relevant to discuss the possibility that this program is currently a house of cards, built by our AD.

Thank you for your eye opening post. It isn't often that we get someone in here that been attending all of the meetings and practices and actually knows what is going on.

Most posts are from meat heads that have no clue and are trying to sound important.

Assistant coaches like O as a person but don't respect him as a coach. They think they know more football than he does.

Serious question. If this is true why would they work for him?

Alleva screwed the pooch by NOT firing Les Miles the night of the TAMU game. Fisher was never going to come, he was using LSU as leverage for FSU at the time or as it turns out a deeper pocket suitor. However, if you are going to fire someone, then fire him. Alleva wanted to fire Les and get a new coach. He should have done it at the end of the 2015 season. We'd probably have gotten close to what we wanted as a coach.....but Alleva screws this up and compounds the problem by firing Les 4 weeks into the 2016 season

That's why no big name coach was coming. AD doesn't play straight with them

Proof? Look at the opportunities he has had since LSU kicked him out.

Well we pay our DC 2.5 Million and his career is improving in reputation.

So if Aranda felt that way he could stay for the money and the career advancement .

Agree 100%. As long as Alleva and Orgeron are running the football program, it's relevant to discuss their management styles, history and practices (positive or negative). Especially the recent history pertaining to last year and that's true for any program in the country, not just LSU.

He doesn’t actually “say” anything , he just shows up in posts with his tried and true “oh well you think you know so much, hotshot? WELL I DONT SEE ANYONE CALLING OFFERING YOU AN FBS HEAD COACHING JOB!!” schtick.

Gets me everytime :chuckle:

It's almost as if some people predicted this sort of thing would happen when you hire a HC based on the promise that he is going to be completely hands off and let his coaches coach.

“ don’t respect him as a coach”

Respect is normally not given, but earned. What exactly has Coach O done in college football to earn the respect of other coaches?

When you hire a D line coach, not a DC or a OC or a current coach, he damn well better be special or your are asking for possible serious problems.

We will know in about three months whether we have someone special or someone in over his head.

Look I’m not an O fan but Canada was on Alleva. Ed wanted Ensminger from the start. Alleva said no.

That’s goes against what O said from the beginning. He said he’d hire the best co-ordinators and let them coach. No way he said one thing to get the job then said he wanted to hire Ensminger in his next breath.

I'm honestly not angry at all. The same stuff over and over just gets old. It's the same things said in different ways.

It's in the past, it's time to move on.
