Chris Blair's call on the last play was as good as anything Hawthorne ever did

People hate on Blair too much. He’s a professional and his love for LSU grows by the game. You can hear his excitement in the “wowwww”. Sounded like he was choking up.

I don’t listen to Blair’s radio calls, but is “hey now” his catch phrase?

If so, he stole that from Hank Kingsley.

I agree. Amazing call. I’ve been hard on CB this season, but that was a great call.

He takes too long to let you know if it’s a TD or not on a lot of calls

I don’t think anything will ever top the Warren Morris homer. That was pure sport euphoria.

I don’t like “Hey now”.

Other than that, great call. The “Wowwwww” at the end was great.

I have nothing against Hawthorne but Blair is 1,000 times better.

This is O vs Kelly type comparison.

Ah the great Chris Blair from Kentucky.

Hawthorne > Kentucky Blair

Blair calls the action just after it happened. So sometimes his call sounds forced or contrived. Hawthorne was great because he called it as it happened. It was also his downfall and the reason we got so many "caught! no dropped" in the later years.

I definitely preferred Fowler’s call.

Guess I'll be heading to watch greatness over and over again today.

I have nothing against Hawthorne and Blair, but John Ferguson was my all time favorite. I guess it's because you listened to him on the radio because back in those days LSU was on TV only a couple of times per season.
