Yeah, i never understood the people who say he isn't passionate enough. Like I understand Hawthorne was the goat, but to complain about Blair is really unfair. Remember when Hawthorne used to complain about extra-inning baseball games toward the end?

I miss Hawthorne. Chris Blair does a decent job though.

I'm one that said he can sometime lack enthusiasm, but this game seemed like one of his good ones.

Blair is horrible. A lot of times he has huge pauses in between his calls and you have no clue what is going on.

I'll take Jack Hunt catching the blue grass miracle any day over this dude.

Some will understand the previous reference.

True. He often doesn't know who has the ball, and his descriptions are longer than the play.

I was listening on my way home from work. Sometimes, I didn’t know if the pass was complete, incomplete, or even how many yards it was for way too long.

Best decision I made yesterday was to sync up the radio call with the TV and mute Gary Danielson.

My point exactly. Hell it would go to break after a 3rd and long fail and you're waiting for the punt and then it would be Ole Miss football and first down with little description because of a penalty.

Eh it was ok but I don't think it was anything special. Used to get chills listening to Hawthorne and Blair just doesn't bring that.

With that said I've said all along I love Blair in baseball. His voice is perfect for it and he seems to have more passion for it as it doesn't seem as forced.

Because he hasn't been.

Posting good highlights from one game does not change the last few years.

Hawthorne always reminded me of Verne Lundquist as a kid. Iconic voice and great passion, but sounded like he barely knew what was going on half the time
