I would love to hear Kelly’s explanation on why he continues to do this. I’m assuming his reasoning would be because the offense is the strength of the team and you want to do everything you can to be the first team to put points on the board. The problem that you willingly don’t take the points that would have put you up 3-0.

Instead you have to pray to get lucky that the opposing team has a shite kicker and misses a field goal at the end of the half.

Then why does he continually not take the easy 3 on the first drive of these games???

That is just as baffling as the decision not to defer

Haven’t we driven the ball down field on the first drive in all 3 of BK season openers to come away with a total of zero points??

I don’t have a problem taking the ball first if you believe your offense is better than your defense. I do not like passing on field goals, despite what the analytics say. That early in the game, I believe it creates a “chasing those points” mindset.

I don't mind taking the kickoff if you have a 2019 offense and you're playing a vastly inferior opponent that you want to put to bed early. But if it's two evenly matched teams, it's just dumb. Even dumber to get zero points with a terrible playcall out of a timeout.

It's stupid and BK is too moronically stubborn to change his mind.

Had zero impact on the game and was the right call because at that point in the game you was t sure what to prepare for with their offense. You didn’t know if they would go tempo or not.
The defense also gets a better chance to adjust at halftime by doing that. I have no problems with the call. I do have a problem with the center missing a block on a fricking linebacker that was blitzing at the goal line and the quarterback got nailed.
Also, you take the points there

Analytics. The games are shorter so scoring first gives you a better shot at winning. It’s not that difficult to comprehend people.

This is a list of things you will here a HC tell an assistant coach right before halftime instead of "Hot Damn!!!!!! We are kicking off to start the third quarter."

"I'm going to hire the crips gang to come over and rape and murder every female in your family. Then I'll have them burn your house down."

"I'm sending you after the season on a weeklong recruiting trip, and I'll be banging your wife daily while you're on that trip."

"I took a piss in your coffee cup, then you drank that mixed in with your Maxwell House."

YOU DO NOT EVER RECIEVE THE BALL TO START THE GAME WHEN YOU HAVE THE CHOICE. PERIOD!!!!!!!

Choosing to receive the ball after winning the toss is good if you’re aggressive and actually score. The conservative play calling that went on last night was embarrassing

We marched down the field on the first possession and USC did nothing on offense to start the second half. So it was a good decision to take the ball first. The problem was not kicking the FG.

I don’t like it but if you do take the darn field goal and get some points off of it. You have to have something to show for that decision if that’s your choice.

I didn’t have an issue with it in this game. I also didn’t have an issue going for the 4th and 2 and later the TD on 4th instead of the FG.

My problem is the play calling in the 2nd half. The “adjustment” to stop doing what was working and instead do the opposite was mind numbing. We wasted every opportunity to take command of the game.
