Spread is a real football the difference is it's much easier for QBs to run it is a simple passing game typically you have one read and based on that you go here or here it's much easier than a pro style offense also many qbs run it in high school and sure it's more complex at college level but they have the basics of it and a background

The object of the game is to OUTSCORE the opponent! Averaging 2 yds a carry while your team is getting their asses handed to them and continuing to run is just stupid.

yep. he's saying a good coach adjust's his scheme to the players he has, not make the players he has fit his scheme. 2 of the best coaches in professional sports(belichick and pop') have been doing it for almost 2 decades.

I'm not knocking miles, he has shown in the past that when he trusts the qb he opens it up.

My problem is that they still kept using it even though it clearly wasn't working. If we're actually getting first downs, I don't care if they go power I every play. But when soemthing doesn't work you need to adjust your gameplan, and we just couldn't do that. People blame it all on "the I" being the problem, but to me you just need to do what works abot not try and force something.

if you've got the size up front and a stable of talented backs, the classic ground and pound game can get consistent yards with little risk of turnovers.

But...but...LSU has no running game. : / If this O does not score prolifically, this team will lose early and often.

I don't follow the Eagles, but how often does he line up in the power I with them?
None that I am aware of. But he is a run first coach who uses a lot of tight ends. The main difference is the tempo and the use of misdirection at times. And he does throw to the tight ends a lot so you can't just treat them like linemen.

Do we have the personnel to run the power I this year? It didn't work out too well against Ms St. You can run power out of any set, and it appears a three wide set with one tight end and one back seems to be our most effective offense. That is what worked against Wisconsin in the second half.

That time will be when we travel to Auburn on Oct. 4th.

At the end of the day, the SEC is won by line play. If you have a top OLine and a top Dline you will have success in this league and in CFB.

Right now our Oline and Dline are under performing. If we can correct those two things, everything else is in place. That said, I don't know if we have the personel to fix the DLine.

That would be fine if our TEs were actually worth a shite and our FB was actually a threat out of the backfield.

Actually our defense in 2007 was pretty porous. We gave up like 30 points a game against SEC teams.

Defense and a strong ground game has been our keys to championship years though, that is correct.

Poster is correct. But... when your defense is lacking, you must compensate and open up the offense.

We're not good enough on the o-line. The system works, it always has and it always will. You just need good o-line play. Everything is upgraded on the offensive side of the ball with a competent o-line.

Well, we don't have the personnel in there that can do it now. The key to coaching is making adjustments.

No clown. You actually made another point.

WE DONT HAVE THE HORSES TO RUN THE I...hence, you dont.

Our offense sucked against Mississippi State, so what the hell are you talking about? It doesn't matter if the defense struggled, the offense still looked awful and deserves criticism. And you win with defense AND offense, actually. They go hand in hand.
