Seems to me Chief's relationships went south just this season and he was in need of more love and attention. His flirtation with aggie and Sumlin went too fast for him.

He'll improve aggie significantly but Sumlin and Chief will have to take them to division championships before Chief gets more love and attention than he received in Death Valley.

Scott Long says until the $400,000 Bailout is resolved that Chief cannot be named DC at A&M. He could end up without a job!

LSU needs to get the Office of Bursar to collect the money owed by Chavis, they were relentless in getting my tuition payments

Chief and A&M stand to lose more than the buyout if they don't pay up. Pretty disgraceful. Not worth ruining your reputation.

It will be paid, It should be paid, and the only issue is will Aggies pay it for Chief or not?

So if he isn't officially a coach at Texas A&M, how can he be legally recruiting? Isn't that a violation?

LSU has Shaq recruit for us... and may very well have had Orgeron recruit for us during the dead week.

If it is a violation, then its unenforceable.

According to email exchanges The Advocate received, A&M’s lawyers are, in part, handling negotiations with LSU regarding the buyout.

What's to negotiate? Pay up.

I think Bob Huggins recruited in the dead period before he was "officially" announced at WVU and nothing happened to him. Until they are officially part of the university, they can talk to anyone they want to.

When Curly was fired, we lost a coach because of the buyout, Pat Sullivan at TCU I think.

If those reports are tru that Chavis and Sumlin talked the morning of the Notre Dame game about him being DC,we should indeed force him/them to pay up.

No way this could be true..we had at least 20 aggie posters say it there was nothing they could do to re-coop the monies....
So it must be true, also it was on the internet, so again it must be true..

A&M will pull out their oil and gas petty cash drawer and flip a $400,000 bill to Alleva, only after they extract some lawyer/PR pain from him (and LSU).

Alleva's first PR reaction on this looked awful. Like a spurned girl at a dance, to a division rival no less. So he's better off keeping radio silence on this and focusing on LSU's positive future on defense.

How do you owe $400,000 grand and you get to pay monthly installments with no interest?

Sounds like he is facing a 4th quarter 3rd and Chavis in his own career. Hope he loses.
