This is not true. The inside of the line is the same with carl j at LG, Pouncey at C and Pouncey at RG. We are replacing both tackles - looks like Soph Matt Patchan at LT and Jr Marcus Gilbert at RT. Gilbert has had a lot of snaps.

As far as the spring game goes, they mix starters on both sides, so not sure you get a real look from that.

Of the 9 teams I posted. You can defend UTs defense all you want, it doesn't make it true. They were good, but not great. Chavis is a good DC, but his defenses haven't scared anyone for a long time now. Almost anything is an improvement over what LSU put on the field last year.

Did you want him after the 2001 SECCG?..Did you want him after the 2006 game?..Did you want him after the 2007 SECCG?...No you didn't..Chavis is a GREAT lb coach..but not a great DC...Give him a front seven like LSU will trot out on the field and you WILL NOT LINE UP IN THE I and get 100 yards on Chavis..But teams with Mis-direction give him fits..Air Force and that Flex-bone almost pulled an upset in 2006 because Chavis couldn't defend it..And when it comes to 3rd and Long..He will make you want to jump in Lake Ponchotrain...

I think someone needs t recheck the latest news. I forget which, but one of the Pounceys used to play tackle and is now playing guard. So two new OT's?

The grass is always greener. The job Chavis did in 2008 was incomparable. The Vols finished first in the SEC despite no depth at DT and an offense that ranked dead last in time of possession.

I believe he'll redefine his career at LSU, the way Les Miles redefined his here.

Chavis will have great athletes and a great offense on the others side of the ball here every year. Something he rarely had at UT.

This is the most misrepresented stat of all time. Here's a list of the National Offensive rankings of 9 of the 12 teams UT played last year (the other 3 being UF, UGA, and Bama):

Team ScoringO TotalO
UCLA 111 109
UAB 56 86
AU 104 110
No Ill 83 76
Ms St 113 115
USCe 97 96
Wyo 108 119
Vandy 117 105
UK 106 87

So was their defense that good, or was it the crap offenses they played against? I vote for the latter. Regarding UF's ydg numbers against UT, they had short fields most of the game and they ran the ball 40 times draining the clock as much as possible. So it's a little misleading that UT's D held UF in check. It's not really accurate. Don't forget it was 27-0 in the 4th qtr.

Until now, I would have thought a Gator fan would have been too ashamed to make fun of anyone else's schedule.

I'm sorry to be proved wrong.

Then that would be YOU. Mike Pouncey played DT his frosh year, but started all last season at OG and his brother, Maurkice, has started for 2 years at C. The tackles last year were Phil Trautwein and Jason Watkins.

go back and watch the 06 and 07 games vs LSU. we didn't do much against his defense. hell our offense in 07 only scored one touchdown. to be honest i have alwasy like the way tennessee played defense. you are taking bits and pieces of what he did wrong and trying to justify why you think he is not a good dc. i highly doubt you will be happy with kiffin and i think he fails, would you agree with that? probably not, and does it mean i am right? who knows, and only time will tell. i will say this, as much as you bash chavis and say he is not a good dc, tennessee won the east last year, and won 10 games. we can go back and forth all day but i believe the hiring of chavis, haley and cooper was A+. i guess we will find out if i'm right or wrong this year. chavis wasn't the problem at tennessee, was he perfect hell no but he wasn't horrible like you make him out to be.

This isn't last year. The Gators have reshuffled their entire offensive line and they enter the season without their two leading pass catchers from last year, Murphy and Harvin.

If you actually watched the UF spring game, you would have noticed that the TE was the main receiving threat and the o-line hardly looked dominant.

Could you be any more full of shite?

Aaron Hernandez didn't even play in the Spring Game, and the TE position didn't even record a single catch. The FB position caught a grand total of two passes for three yards.

Florida's two best offensive linemen (The Pounceys) didn't even play in the game.

Please come up with a better way to diminish the Florida team so you can feel better about LSU's chances than the "they didn't look impressive in the spring game" bullcrap you keep on propagating.

What are the facts? It remains to be seen if UF will have the same level of play from the o-line this year. The line has been reshuffled, something nobody does by choice.

Your top two receivers have graduated. Harvin and Murphy I beleive accounted for over 50% of your offense last year.

As I said before, your offense in 2009 doesn't scare me. I wouldn't take anyone on the Gator offense outside of Tebow over his Tiger counterpart.

hopefully SEC DC's will notice that this guys top 2 playmakers are gone and stack the line on him and force him to beat you with tha pass, if he throws perfect passes then he's money.

Meh; he still has Deonte Thompson and Riley Cooper to throw to; both of which are supposedly incredible playmakers. It remains to be seen whether they can adequately take the place of Murphy; but Rainey and Demps can more than likely fill the place of Harvin. They won't suffer major withdrawals in that department, IMO.

The only true weakness I can think of with this Florida team is the offensive line losing Phil Trautwein and Jason Watkins. They return a few linemen; and are moving Matt Patchan back to the offensive line to help sew up any hole that would have been left open.

I checked the box score from the spring game and
didn't see where a TE recorded a single catch.

This is for Major Gator
Lsu has scheduled Vatech highly ranked twice since 2002 1-1 against them and we are 4-0 against the Panzy atheletic conference PAC-10 albeit the teams we beat weren't good. Even more so we scheduled West Virginia and North carolina in coming years which have promising rank potential.

Major the last time Florida has played a tough regular season nonconference opponent was 2003 against Miami and Fl State and you lost both games. Yes you've done well the past few years but your nonconference schedule sucks the past 6 years. don;t come on our board talking smack
