Whatever: Devonta Smith played for Alabama and won the Heisman! Why should Chase’s story be front and center!!

Chase did not play and that is not worthy of comment at the end of his decision and day!!!!

He was gonna sit 3-4 games for failing a drug test and didn’t want the negative attention.

Ding ding

I’m actually surprised it hadn’t leaked. Now he very well could have contracted covid and it affected his breathing but he was 100% sitting several games this year due to failed DT.

Sorry that I can’t believe the guy that committed to 3 different schools before LSU. He opted out so that he wouldn’t risk injury. Thus helping set the precedent for future juniors doing the same Covid or no Covid.

Shut the hell up dude. He has no reason to lie. Owes you nothing

Of course he has a reason to lie. He wants to spin his opt out so no one thinks less of him. I’m not saying he is lying, but he definitely has a reason.

Whatever the case, it’s really disappointing to see Chase as one of the only prospects to wear a mask. Paints the state and school in a horrible light

I was upset when he opted out. But this interview definitely changed my view on his choice. He didn’t want to opt out. His health forced that decision. I can respect that and I appreciate what he’s done for this program.

Don’t you think if his health and his asthma was the reason he would have said that, or his father who was on the radio all the time? I mean it’s whatever, he made the decision he did and he’s gonna be rich tonight, but I’m just not buying this excuse

Let’s see:
“I quit on my team because it’s all about me. frick them dudes!” or

“I left because of Covid”.

Yeah. No reason to lie.

He may have thought that admitting to the asthma induced by covid could hurt his draft status since he didn't know what the lasting effects were gonna be. Only thing I can think of as to not release this info earlier.

I mean maybe, but he opted out in August. It’s now April. If it was something like COVID and asthma, he did a lot more damage to his reputation not saying anything about it for 8-9 months. I just don’t think this excuse is very believable
