A friend of mine said Charlie was being very kind in not directly calling out the offense and Steve Ensminger. He said Charlie was dancing around it because of working with Ensminger's daughter in law on a daily basis. If you heard the show do you think this happened? I missed the show so I didn't hear it.

I don't try to read into that kinda thing and find the drama. He talked around it though. Said he's not saying there's no schematic issues, but the main issue is execution. But then he did say the biggest coaching issue is a Monday-Friday problem. He questioned the coaching in practice... why in week 10 can't we successfully run a screen etc

Hanagriff has either lost the balls he had a few years ago or had them taken away from him. Either way this isn’t a surprise.

That is hard to believe after having listened to him for so many years. It surprised me when my buddy told me that. I guess I will listen to the pod cast when I get a chance.

He's very anti criticizing Ensminger or O - sort of like a homer now, which is unfortunate since he was the only one who used to call the coaches out. If you thought last night was bad you should have heard him last week - resigned to the loss and justifying the status quo.

Is Hannagriff independent or is he part of the athletic department media arm?

Serious question.

Many of these radio guys are employed by LSU.

Maybe Charles is just tired of discussing the same old issues with LSU since 2099. It’s got to be tiring.

I had never heard him like that before. If they didn't stream video of the postgame show, you would've thought Ponamsky was standing behind him with a gun to his head.

Charlie seems to be one of those “I’ve said it so many times I’m not repeating it” types. I think he views the offense as it is what it is and he’s not going to spend every post game harping on it.

Hannigriff has always chosen his words carefully when offering criticism, but I find that he is more reluctant to criticize Coach O than he was Coach Miles and staff. Perhaps it's because Coach O is only in his second full year as HC and Hannie is still giving him the benefit of the doubt, hoping things will improve.

He went out of his way to be kind. He documented problems with offense going back 20 years. They talked about the screen game and how it should be a strength, but is a weakness. They talked about specific offensive woes, blocking, receivers.

It was fairly comprehensive, it wasn't Pollyannish, but it didn't get personal. His biggest gripe was, predictably, the OL and how he thought they would better by now. He also asked why we don't have a clear #2 receiver behind Jefferson. He was complimentary of the backs (as am I, their effort and commitment are unquestionable) at the same time (being nice about it) indicating they aren't the gamechanging backs we're used to.

Isn’t his boss married to Ensminger’s niece or something?

Also, at least one host on 104.5 has confirmed on air they get more calls from the football office now than they did in all of Miles’ years combined.

Moscona on the other hand has criticized O so much that he's been told by LSU that O will go on any 104.5 show except AFR

It's odd that the same guy who declared Les Miles would never beat a Saban coached team after the UT clusterfrick(Les immediately did) can't bring himself to say the same about a Steve Ensminger offense vs Saban.

That didn’t stop him from voicing his opinion in the past

Perhaps, but I think it's more than that. He didn't mince words last season. I remember he and Ott questioning the prospects of even getting bowl eligible the Monday after the Troy loss.

Problem is, the people at the station have a lot of personal relationships with Orgeron and the program. Ensminger was Orgeron's hand-picked guy, and they realize it's not going well, so after the Bama loss, I think everyone decided to close ranks.

I’m certain that being passed over for the LSU position has affected his stated opinions, or at least the tone of them, but that position is one that typically is held by someone without strong opinions.

I have almost always agreed with him, and find his analysis to be spot on. His tone has been notably different this year.
