I don't know how strong the SEC is this year but it needs to be as weak as last year for LSU to have a winning season. I know that Bo Spencer was hurt today, but this team is struggling.
Here are the weak points of this years team.

1. Bad shooting team. Any way you look at it, this team cannot shoot very good.
2. No inside defenders. If Storm is considered an inside presence on defense, then we have one.
3. No bench. Is it seven or eight scholarship players on the roster?
4. We will never press because of our lack of depth. This will hurt us when we need to pressure the other team when we are down and need to "force" the issue.
5. Lack of a true point guard to back up Bo Spencer. Bass is not the answer. You need someone like Bo who can penetrate the lane and dish off the ball.

Here are the good things.
1. This team shows enthusiasm both on the court and the bench. Both games at MS Garden the bench was still cheering even when down 20 and the game out of reach.
2. Trent Johnson, Mitchell, Bo and Storm.

Good luck Tigers and I hope you make the postseason.

Moo State made the NCAA last year. And Georgia the year before.

Keep that in mind.

You do realize our team was burned out in the second half. Bobby Knight commented on it extensively.

We make the NIT. No doubt.

Bass is much better than you give him credit for, and he will improve as the season goes on.

Mitchell absolutely must become more aggressive to make this team better than below average.

With practice, especially against the cup cakes coming in in the next few games, this team will improve.

8-8 in conference looks good. I think, though, 10-6 is not out of it. The SEC is still weak, and what gives us a big advantage is our coach. He gets his teams prepared and he is an excellent in game coach.

Just don't let these last two games bias your thinking too much.

A lot of mediocre teams make it into both of those tourneys and I think we have potential to be better than mediocre

I think the NCAA would be overachieving and the NIT should be a realistic goal for this year. I think we are very capable to make the NIT with ease. We just need to stay healthy.

Every team on our schedule is going to play zone.......and I just dont see us hitting %35-%45 from the field with any consistancy. We do a poor job of blocking out and rebounding. Teams are going to eat us up on the boards and our foul trouble will only continue given our lack of play on the perimeter and size (we are being forced to take it inside. Not because we are good at it, but because thats all we can do).

This year is going to be tough.

We'll be fortunate to win 7 or 8 conference games. 6-10 is more likely. Nothing against the young and/or inexperienced guys - they're trying, but we only have 3 legitimate SEC-caliber players right now.

Weakest roster in many years. I wish Storm was a freshman cause this will be a wasted year, unfortunately.

Without Bo out there, we had 5 guys play more than 10 minutes. We literally had 6 players play 10 minutes or more. The players are just exhausted. It's hard to play that many minutes when you're an undersized teams.

Remember, we had a walk-on not only start, but play 39 out 40 minutes! that is insane. We had 4 players playing 36 or more minutes.

Against UConn, Warren getting into foul trouble hurt us and guys got tired. It's hard to play with this small a bench. Give the younger guys time to develop before SEC play, and we may be a lot better looking, but fatigue is killing this team.

I think NIT is very realistic.

State finished 19-13 before the postseason last year. That is not good.
