When was the last time LSU declined a bowl?

1969. I think.
1980, actually.
Stovall's first team went 7-4, declined a bid to the Peach Bowl.

1969/70 season....they were slated to play in Cotton Bowl against Texas but Cotton Bowl decided to ask ND to break their bowl game hiatus.....LSU was asked to play on Peach Bowl again but felt that game beneath them and decided ad a team to stay home that year. Remember, (maybe not for most of you...too young) not many Bowl games in those days....
Great memory...9-1 (only 3 pt loss to Archie) LSU v. TX was supposed to be the de facto national championship game until ND pulled their stunt. TX had the #1 rushing offense in the country and LSU had the #1 defense. That may have been the best defense in LSU history as they gave up less than 9pts a game and allowed something like 300yds rushing for the entire season.
Hence my user ID Tigersd69 :)

Yeah, I remember that also. Football seemed so much more fun back then. I would love to know who downvoted your post and why.

Yeah, but how much does the Birmingham Bowl really pay?

Need a recruiting trip to Shreveport area anyway...

Its not about the money people. As a matter of fact, LSU and most schools lose money attending a bowl games because of the large group that is allowed to go. The SEC splits evenly across all members in Destin every year. Teams do get a stipend to help pay for the bowl. It never covers all the expenses of the attending team.

This is Louisiana State University, not Louisiana Tech University.

Please replace your LA Tech logo with a ULL pepper.

Who the hell open the doors and let the patients out of Pineville?

So you think it would be smart to cost the team extra practices and the school and conference money? This helps the new regime how?
