Yea the player got up, but without the ball! Only a dumb-arse thinks that a receiver who drops the ball in the end-zone should be praised rather than the badass who laid him out. Chad Jones put his body on the line and saved a touchdown on the play.

Arkansas= high school football team, LSU played their jv squad, other wise it would of been a blowout.

Worst collision I've seen wasn't on the field. It was a news clip of a father who found out his kid's dentist was a child molester. Is it common for child molesters to go into the field of dentistry?
Either you and the fan in Fla. planned this, or it's the worst joke of all time, I dunno know (maybe it's just way too late...).
If none of the above, this cat has left the reservation...

I agree completely with the flag on Jones. Earlier in the year, I balked at the pervasiveness of "unnecessary roughness" calls against hits like this
Except they didn't call "unnecessary roughness."
They called helmet to helmet.

Since when do LSU fans care about the boot
We need to melt it down and sell it to pay for LSU's expenses.
They'll never notice if we don't ever give it up.

Chad Jones is the secondary serial killer!

People are watching this replay to see your guy get effed up!
Yeah, he really got effed up... he was walking to the sideline while Chad Jones was still seeing stars on his hands and knees. Adams came right back in and caught a TD pass.
Good job on the win, though.

LSU is not a good team.

LSU is so not a good team, that they beat your team with a hobbled qb, the 5 string RB, and coming off the worse loss this decade........

The first contact was by Jones' left (throwing) shoulder.
In other news, Paul Mainieri fainted......

Just watched the replay. Looks like a shoulder hit to me. Are we just supposed to let receivers run free across the middle of the field?
Posted on 11/30/09 at 8:28 am to relentlsspursuit
He obviously led with his shoulder and turned his head away from the receiver. It wasn't nearly as bad as the hit the LaTech player put on our WR earlier this year which resulted in NO FLAG.

Bottom line- penalty or not, Chad Jones did his job, BOTH players came back in the game. Oh, and by the way, WE STILL WON.
PS- Ryan Mallet is the biggest tool in the SEC. Thanks to his dancing on the sideline, mouthing off to Erin Andrews, and celebrating too early, everyone watching Saturday night knows it. He and Petrino make a great pair.

Of course...and it's not even debateable.
For anyone that's ever deleivered a hit, it's clear why his helmet tucks at the last second. It's not because he's LEADING with it, it's because he's bracing for imapct at the last second and tightening up. His helmet dips toward his own shoulder...not the receiver's noggin.
holy Christ...if Jones had WANTED to lead with his head, he could have...right? He could have put his lid directly through Admas ribcage, from which point it would have had to be surgically removed...if that's what he was trying to do.
The worst part of the call was from which official threw it. He was being mugged by the Arky staff on the sidelines and came running up from the 30 to throw it.. ZERO question they said something to him that got him to yank that flag when multiple other officials ON THE SCENE did not throw theirs.
FWIW, I hate the new interpretation of the rule regarding a defenseless receiver. Assuming they dodn;t say it's helmet to helmet there but go to the defenseless route, aren't you basically telling DB's they are NOT to hit a receiver while in the air catching the ball? Based on that new interpretaion of the rule, a DB could not longer deliver a hit as the ball is arriving in hoping of disloging the ball.

you're confusing good with great. LSU is certainly a good team, they're nine wins with an SEC schedule proves as much but they are not great. We are all used to seeing very good to great LSU football since about 01 or so but we are going through some growing pains at QB and OL right now. Now, don't you worry your little hog head, we will be back to elite status very soon and when we are we will remember to skull frick you once a year

Thanks for posting the video. The best part are the very last 5 seconds. Go back and look where the receiver's helmut lands (behind CJ). The helmut flew off in the same direction as the Arkansas receiver's body was moving before contact was made. Basic physics shows that the primary force of the impact was not to the receiver's head but at least somewhat below (his shoulder).

I don't think his helmet would have popped off if it was a helmet to helmet hit..
