So you aren't going to touch my post from above with each teams best wins pitted against one another? I don't blame you on that. You can't win.

Dude, if you have to dig that deep to find some glimmer of hope for your doomed team... That's just pathetic, bro. Like, Ole Miss pathetic.

It's like you bought a box of raisin bran with one raisin in the box. Keep digging for it, it's in there SOMEWHERE!

You lost to a 4&8 team. You were one single bad call from losing to the team we just beat 50-7. One week later!

I know you're skeered. I would be too.

The only thing LSU can't accomplish is beating the size of the OSU TV market. and sidewalk-fan base. At least not this year.

Which means nothing for #1 vs #2. They’re still getting the same number of games.

Did you not read my OP? The whole point was showing how could they keep OSU as #1 if chalk holds up this weekend showing the likely top 10 if so. At worst it would be 3 vs 1 top 10 wins for our favor and 2 to 4 top 12 wins in our favor? At best for us a 4 to 1 top 10 win advantage.

I understand OSU right now being number 1, I don't agree with it but I understand it. But that is not the point of my OP, I was speculating on how it would finish if chalk holds up.

So our top 10 wins would be 6. Georgia 7. Florida 8. Alabama and 10. Auburn since you keep asking how we got 4 top 10 wins, there it is.

Ohio State would have 4 wins in the Top 15 potentially.

Ohio State expanded their lead this past week. Beating the #4 team vs beating the #10 team won't be enough to move the needle.

Ohio State dominates nearly every metric out there which the committee looks at. Strength of Schedule rankings are very close. Ohio State has dominated opponents all year, LSU has struggled with a few teams.

I don't see a path forward for LSU to #1 without an Ohio State loss.

I fully believe that LSU should be number 1, this season has been amazing to watch and i have never felt better as a Tiger fan. BUT the number 1 seed has never won the playoff so would it be that bad to be the 2 seed? Yes we would have to play 2 hard games instead of 1, but we have shown time and time again that we play our best games when the stage is higher. Just food for thought here.

Have you watched every OSU game?

I have watched 10 LSU games this season and every OSU game. As in most years, it's impossible to determine who is better, so you use the data you have. LSU has better wins, OSU has looked better/more dominate in their big games.

And this thread is full of a lot of hate for PSU and Michigan

LINK

PSU and Michigan are more talented than Auburn/UF according to this. now we know talent doesn't equal everything, but those are 2 pretty talented teams

Honestly, I doubt it's even a blip on their radar.

Laughably speculative. Of course the committee weighs the opinions of the sports press and CFB coaches heavily. Listen to yourself.

The BCS projection top 4 has matched the top four every year of the CFP. Not the order every time, but the same top 4. So I'm sure they look at the computers of the BCS at the very least

Inconsequential considering the teams are not in question. The order is.

And you are arguing that the committee weighs the system we just jettisoned more heavily than widely accepted legacy ranking systems. That’s asinine on its face. Besides, BCS had LSU ranked #1 until week 15 and would certainly place them back there with a Georgia win this weekend.

They've never once mentioned the AP and coaches polls as evidence for ranking in any show I've watched since 2014. You're the one speculating. Provide proof. Thanks.

The BCS uses the "legacy ranking system" whatever the frick that is. The CFP documents say this:

quote:

While it is understood that committee members will take into consideration all kinds of data including polls, committee members will be required to discredit polls wherein initial rankings are established before competition has occurred;

So AP and Coaches are out I would assume.

When you're losing an argument, REACHHHH for recruiting rankings.

Or are recruiting rankings another obscure metric the committee uses?

Assuming lsu and OSU both win this weekend

LSU will have wins over (guessing at final rankings):

#7 UGA
#8 UF
#9 Bama
#11 Auburn

OSU will have wins over:

#10 PSU
#14 wISKY
#14 wISKY
#18 Mich

That would be insane for someone to support tOSU being ahead of LSU

We'll see how the rankings shake out. Penn State will be higher than 10 (they're 10th now) and Wisconsin will be Top 10 most likely.

Eithe way it's important to note that:

Ohio State blew out 2 of those games, and won the other by 11. 4th hasn't happened.

LSU played two of those games relatively close (3 and 5) and beat Florida by 14. 4th hasn't happened.

It's (strength of schedule) much closer than LSU fans want to think. And Ohio State has looked much better on both sides of the ball throughout the entire year (proven by nearly every metric).

Lol at Penn St being 10 now, it would be pure comedy gold to have them higher than 10. Same with Wisconsin. That said, the committee will no doubt do it if they think it is necessary to prop up Ohio's resume.

Alabama would be double digit favorites over both. As would Georgia. Auburn and Florida would be minimum 7 pt favorites over both.

This is comedy gold at its best.

I wish that when they point out the resumes of each team next week, they would get a handicapper to project the point spread of bama against Ohio's top opponents, then ga against them, then aub and fl. It would definitely identify the huge discrepancy in competition. But, they won't do that. It would ruin their agenda.

What I'm staying is fact too. Penn St and Wisconsin would be at best 7-5 if you gave them a&M's schedule.

They were 10th last week. 2 teams above them lost. I doubt they jump Bama or Minnesota. They will stay at 10. Following a possible Baylor loss, they could be 9th.

I could see Wisconsin jumping to the top 10.

We'll have to see.

No one is saying that they won't move up. In fact, if the committee has a chance they will move them up simply to boost the resume of Ohio State. But, the truth is Penn State has no offense, and a poor secondary. There are 5 sec teams that would be significantly favored over wiscy and Penn St, on a neutral field. Most would be double digits.

Can't wait for the big sec vs big bowl matchups. I just hope the sec teams come out wanting to play, and not pull a Georgia from last year against tx

The CFP committee is simply raising the possibility of a Joe Burrow vs. Ohio State outcome. All about the ratings. Not complicated. Both can make it to NOLA with 1 loss.
