so we beat bama but lose to OM

I don't think that's laughable.

I think both Bama and A&M are both being highly overrated and we match up very well with them. The problem is, their schedules are so easy it doesn't matter if they're overrated.

I think we beat Bama and A&M, but still don't win the West because we'll lose to UGA and one other team in that 5 game SEC stretch, likely MSU or OM.

Bama and A&M are overrated but we aren't a perfect team either.

Georgia is a tougher matchup for us IMO and going to Athens is brutal. I think we'll stumble another game along the way. 8 straight games to open the season, the last 5 against SEC teams with 3 on the road is just too much.

I think we finish 10-2 with wins over Bama and A&M but the winner of the Bama A&M game goes to ATL at 11-1.

true story, i was at both games.

was that stuart patridge or whoever the eff??

Remember right before halftime, from about mid field (and LSU had been setting this play up the whole game), Herb looks like he's running an option, checks up, and hit Booty right between the 8 and the 8 without an Ole Miss player within 15 yards of him, standing on the goal line? And he drops it!

back to the predictions in the OP, the only two (3 i guess) head scratchers are arky beating tamu and south carolina, and florida losing to mizzou

. Agree. LSU is almost guaranteed to lay one egg per year with Les, it usually involves an away SEC game. Although I think it will be at UGA, it well could be Ole Miss.

No need to play the games now I guess. What bowl did we qualify for?

I like how we are the only SEC team and probably one of very few to not have a preview up yet.

Well for me since we don't play Ole Miss after Bama, we should beat them pretty easily. We've been pretty sluggish after Bama and usually play close games against teams like La Tech and usually weak teams like arky and Ole Miss.

Now I don't know how we lose to Ole Miss after beating UF at home. I'm just glad we have a bye between Bama and ATM.

It's gonna be a first to 35 game IMO. UGA's defense should be mediocre at best and if we've improved our vertical game, that young secondary will be ate up.

This kind of attitude is why fans blow gaskets when things don't go according to plan.

OM is a decent team with lots of talented players with a good coach playing in a great stadium.

Why anyone expects us to beat them "pretty easily" doesn't understand the basics of competition. Not to mention that it's at the end of a 5 game SEC stretch and 8 game stretch overall.

Can we beat them by 30?? Sure. Doesn't mean we will and it doesn't mean that if we don't our coach is an idiot or our team is lazy and doesn't care.

shite happens when you step onto the field no matter how talented or prepared you are.

The best team does not always win.

It will be a tough environment Oct 19 in Oxford. No W is guaranteed for that game or any LSU for that matter.

Every time I see Bama's schedule I feel like punting a kitten.

losing to a 1-5 Ole Miss team, to boot

Not without precedent...

In 1997, after beating #1 Florida, #8 LSU promptly went out and LOST to Ole Miss 21-36 in Tiger Stadium. At the time, OM was 3-2 and was unranked, with wins agains Central Florida, SMU and Vandy.

Also, in 1986, a 5-1 LSU (#12 at the time) team with wins against TAMU, Florida, UGA and UNC to that point, lost to OM 19-21 in Tiger Stadium. At the time, Ole Miss was unranked, with a 5-2-1 record (wins against Memphis, Tulane, KY, ULL and Vandy)

I had the misfortune of being at BOTH of those games.

I could definitely see us losing to Ole Miss. They play us tough and they have a lot of momentum and excitement going into next year and the game is at their house earlier on than normal. They won't have their spirits destroyed quite yet.

pretty easily is by 10 points or more and yes we should.

Ole Miss will be a decent team, but LSU will outmatch them.

That's my guess too, but Ole Miss does worry me more than Bama and A&M this year. Its at the end of a stretch of 5 SEC games, including UGA and UF, and we have byes before Bama and A&M.
