I’m in the Finley Camp, for the exact reason given.

Finley is the future. I look for MB to transfer to SMU after this year

ETA: I love Brennan and appreciate what hes done for LSU but the writing is on the wall now :/ its a business. Shane Buechele (former Texas QB current SMU QB) will be gone after the season and I can see MB moving to Dallas and finishing his career there before entering the NFL

Finley exudes cool and confidence and everything seemed to run smoother with him in the game. Not to mention his physical talents as well. You just can't keep him on the sideline.

I’d like to see Finley against an aggressive defense that can get to the QB like Bama or Florida before I crown him over Myles.

The irony!!!

Id like to see Brennan against the same before we crown him too.

Not disputing that. Hopefully we see them both in those situations. Like O said, you don’t know what they can Really do until they do it in the game.

He was pressured 16x vs Mizzou and he was perfect under pressure.

I'm excited to see Finley play again. If he can get his pre-snap reads down the way he did against USCe he will do well.

I agree, he looked like Rohan Davey out there slinging the football around.

It was one game where we leaned heavily on RPOs, the running game and getting the ball out quick with 2 weeks to improve.

Finley played as well as anyone could have dreamed, but it isn’t the same thing as what Brennan has been asked to do at this point

Myles played great excluding the first game. I cannot fathom his position being lost unless he is out longer than expected. I just cannot see TJ taking the position unless he plays like an All SEC QB. Myles had great numbers before his injury

Mississippi State is like third in the conference in team sacks behind Georgia and LSU.

South Carolina has been good at getting to the quarterback, they just never really pressured Finley, some of that is due to the offensive line playing better and some is probably due to them having to actually respect the run game.

They likely expected us to throw 40-50 times like we'd been doing.

LSU has been basically running the Air Raid with Brennan and shifted to a more conventional spread type attack against South Carolina.

The second «analyst » did no analysis. I think Brennan has graded very highly when under pressure and this guy acts like he has just fallen apart. If you are going to claim something, then you need evidence to back it up.

There is no "situation". O says if Brennan is 100% he is the starter, likely because he has 100% of the offense down pat. T J will still get to compete and O has said if Brennan struggles, especially after his USC performance, he won't hesitate to put TJ in.

Even when we get good QBing, we're still backup QBU. it's amazing how many of our fans are ready to cast off Brennan and send him packing from the program after a limited sampling on Finley's abilities.

Finley played well and should be lauded for that but let's be real, he wasn't asked to do a whole lot. The coaching staff did a good job of fitting the game plan to a true freshman making his first start. One read quick passes and it helped tremendously that both the run and pass blocking were as good as we've seen it this year.

So what we didn't see a lot of was TJ operating under pressure, making decisions in the face of being sacked, working from behind or with a tight lead or leading the offense when the run game isn't working as well as it did Saturday and the opponent is playing all pass.

So ultimately, we've yet to see the whole package of what Finley is. It's way to soon to cast off Brennan based on what we saw from Finley Saturday. I look forward to seeing more of him on Saturday though.

I really wanted to see Brennan versus Florida to know exactly where we stand with him. I understand their defense isn't what it once was, but I imagine they would still bring the pressure.
