Truly a loss for college football. I guess it just wasn’t fun anymore once he wasn’t covering the SEC. He’s the best in the business and college football on TV won’t be the same without him.

I know the rant hates Gary and Verne, but they were the voices of CBS college football I grew up hearing for so long and I’ll honestly miss hearing those voices every Saturday just like I’ve missed all the other voices I grew up listening to that are retired or passed away.

Gary's true talent was that he was so insufferable and unlikeable that every fan base is convinced that he hates their team.
I have heard lots of Bama fans melt about how anti-Bama he supposedly is. Wrap your head around that.
As far as his actual color commentary, he isn't the worst, but there's no one I'd less like to call an LSU game.

Those games in the Miles era were often close right down to the wire. My memory is of several games being decided late by mysterious ref calls (or non-calls).....then hearing the echoing laughter on my TV coming from Gary's chortles.

Gary also, until a few years ago, was a really good analyst. Told you why things happened, rather than what just happened. The Gary hates LSU crap is the same weak shite as ESPN hates LSU.

I actually love Gary Danielson. He has good insights during games and tells it how it is.
His bluntness sometimes made a lot of the pussies on this website cry and complain about him.
