SW probably met with the big donors, board, and money men. They’re most likely trying to reach a discounted lump sum payout.
CBK thought he was just going to have to fire the offensive staff and SW said No not so fast my friend, we cleaning house starting with you. CBK turned redder than usual and said you’ll have to pay ME the entire amount owed and stormed out the building before slamming his little soft fist on the desk.
That’s what we needed to happen because that means “the people” told Dough Boy it’s You or Him. If this is what kinda happened then the SW/CBK love affair is over and cannot be minded now. Probably gonna be stuck with paying CBK the entire amount as it’s written in contract. CBK has never truly been a LSU Tiger and lump sum discount one time pay is out of the question with him. So the cut is now open and everybody is gonna bleed.
I thought I’d never say this but give me a ticket on the Lane Train. Connive, Tamper, illegal DMs, whatever it takes.

Pretty good chance Kelly was a smug prick in that meeting and Woodward said frick it.
But he was a universally known smug prick when Woodward hired him and gave him a contract allowing him to be more of a smug prick knowing he is getting paid tens of millions for doing nothing as the coach or nothing as the ex-coach.

In a bizarre plot twist, BK fires Woodward.

Kelly will always hold a grudge against lsu now and will always trash lsu if he gets a tv gig
This will be negotiated in his buyout. He isn't going to be allowed to say shite about LSU if we pay him that money.

Woodward thought he was a smart prick who would win, which is tolerable.
Lacking humility when you're a failure isn't a good look.
Being a smug a-hole when you're a failure (and can't explain how to fix your failures) is a disaster.

Woodward sucks. He isn't the good guy in this. If Kelly goes, he needs to go.

Is it safe to say the 10 year $100 million fully guaranteed contract is a thing in the past?
I’m gonna bet this contract is blown out of the water by some of the ones we will hear about this summer with all of these coach openings

Woodward is a bitch for not firing Kelly on the spot.
Having been around lawyers, contracts for years, the move Woody probably made is a retirement/separation offer. Get out now gracefully for N dollars and we'll free you to get another job. We'll part ways amiably.
Otherwise, we pull all financial support for NIL and any future assistant coaching hires. Would have no hope to compete in the SEC. This would wreck whatever legacy / ego he has left.

He’s delusional if he didn’t see this coming

fricking up a 50 million dollar buy out would be the most Brian Kelly thing ever.
Can't just take your money and go ..... gotta make sure everybody hates you on the way out the door.

For all those clamoring for Lane, he went for it on 4th down deep in his territory in a close game against OU and failed. He pulls stunts like that. Careful what u wish for

yeah, but that's a pyrrhic victory for LSU...
doesn't really make sense to use that tactic in this situation
