I'm not sure the UGA - ND game will count as CBS' prime time game. I think both teams have to be SEC teams. I hope I'm correct.

Y’all do realize that the UF/LSU gametime will be picked this upcoming Monday right? They pick the game times two weeks in advance. So the UF/Auburn game outcome will not matter.

They’re allowed to defer the decision until the week of the game a certain number of times per season (two?).

Am I the only one pretty happy the LSU BAMA game is going to be a 2:30 kick? Change of pace, don’t have to deal with BDS at night, break the steak.... :

Assuming CBS doesn’t pull a 2011... but even that has some good mojo to it

Yeah with Bama-A&M the other possibility I’ll be shocked if they don’t invoke the 6-day option on this one to see how UF-Aubbie plays out. That’s the textbook scenario for the deferment.

Hell NO!! I’m ecstatic about it. Anything different because we’ve gotten to where we lose that game between the ears before toe even meets leather, although I like our chances this year with Burrow. But I don’t give a rat’s arse about playing at night in Tuscaloosa. Happy not to.

I also wonder if a 40 or 50 point Tennessee loss to Georgia on the same day as AUB/UF will have an effect. It’s looking like CBS will have to choose between Alabama/TAMU and Alabama/Tenn if it wants to max-out its 5 Alabama games this year (Ole Miss, SC, LSU, AUB being the other 4 games). With Tenn possibly going into the Alabama game 1-5, maybe this is the year CBS goes in another direction if they get completely embarrassed by UGA.

Yep. Good point. Bama-Tennessee is NOT CBS worthy. We’ll see how that goes.

Wonder if we're both undefeated if CBS makes another deal with ESPN to move LSU/Bama to a primetime kickoff?

CBS will certainly ask, but I have a feeling ESPN's ask is going to be so prohibitive that CBS won't think it's worth it.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I know there’s a lot of football to be played, but as of right now the ranked vs. ranked matchups on November 9 are:
4 LSU at 2 Alabama
14 Iowa at 8 Wisconsin
24 Kansas State at 11 Texas

CBS is going to take LSU/Bama regardless of the kickoff time. Their reason for potentially wanting to make a deal for prime time is to maximize ad revenue. ESPN’s reason for not allowing it is to minimize their prime time competition (maximizing their ad revenue).

Looking at the slate of games for that day, I would assume for now that ESPN will be airing K-State/Texas in prime time. The question is - how much money would it take for ESPN to be willing to either move that game to a different slot or air it in prime time against LSU/Bama.

My guess is that if the Texas/K-State game has legit Big 12 and/or CFP implications at that point, ESPN will tell CBS to kick rocks since they will expect a national audience. On the other hand, if the game doesn’t mean much it will probably be more of a regional audience anyway. In that case, there may be a win/win scenario for CBS and ESPN.

For the record, I think we might be better off playing that game at 2:30 in BDS personally.

Whether it is spot-on or not isn't the problem with Gary. He's a smarta@@ and his intonation is most irritating.

This. It's a compliment to the program.

Neither is Ole Miss-Bama. I have no idea why that's the CBS game this week when it likely won't be closer than a 60 point Bama win.

Agreed, how the CBS game isn't Ms. State vs Auburn I'll never understand.

Don't forget CBS still has one 11/230 DH in their back pocket. Highly doubt we'd get stuck in that 11am slot, but there's always that chance

I hope the LSU-Ala kicks off at 11am. The earlier the better. Night games favor home teams.

Afraid we will have three games maybe 4, if we get to the SEC championship, of Gary saying "Steve Emzinger, Joe Burrows and Clyde Edwards- He Laire"
