We now have 8 commits for 2023 and are ranked 37. You think that is great? I’m pulling for BK to do well but any reasonable person would say recruiting has been a slow start.

It seems to me that recruiting as a function of team building is so much less important than just 5 years ago. With recruits not having any earthly idea what the word “commitment “ means, early signing,NIL and all but mid-game transfers, it clearly does not have the impact it used to have. Traditional dates and timing don’t mean crap anymore. Players are going to wait until they get the deal they want before declaring.
This is what ESPN wants, and they always get what they want. He who pays the piper calls the tune.
I’ll still follow the Tigers, as habits if 64 years don’t just go away. But high school football has more appeal to me than ever.

I’m starting to agree with you. Transfer portal really changes the impact of high school recruiting now. You’ll see multiple models of team building going forward.
