I hope that he's good enough to do that. I think he is a great hire and hope that is the play.

But we'll see how much Orgeron and Ensminger trust his input.

I'm not unexcited.

But I've seen NOTHING to make me think he is ready to run the offense at LSU.

That is what this thread is about.

Start a I'm excited about Joe Brady as he is thread and sure I'll buy that. But this is about OC in waiting. Which is ridiculous

We can only dream, if LSU looks anything like the Saints year 1 it’s his job to lose.

He's just largely unproven at this point.

Is it exciting that he was involved with Sean Payton and the Saint's offense? Of course, but we don't know how much. Anything coming from Sean Payton obviously must be taken with a grain of salt. Coaches tend to fudge a bit when trying to get their assistants jobs. Maybe he was heavily involved in scheming and game planning, maybe he wasn't.

I think he has the potential to be a great hire, but it feels like a high risk/high reward situation (if he were to be named OC next year).

Oh I am too. Don't get me wrong. I like the hire a lot. I've just learned to hold out on anointing someone the savior to LSU's offense until they actually put something together on the field. Seems like every off-season since Miles was fired that some added piece to the coaching staff was the missing link. People get all excited and say "this is it" only to be proven wrong once again.

Exactly.

Was he wanted by a bunch of NFL teams? Is he the hot assistant coach that every team had to interview?

I've heard nothing like that. I'm a realist. Show me and then I'll buy it.

I guess we'll see, won't we?

I'd be surprised if someone being groomed under Sean Payton would move over to coach WRs in college without a bigger carrot hanging in front of him.

And isn't it pretty much a given this will be Slinger's last ride?

No it doesn't. It is just another Rantard board myth.

Why do you hate progress? You said similar things when Joe Burrow was rumored to come here.

Is this an established Rantard board myth? Or are we trying to establish a new established Rantard board myth right now?

If our offense blows up...
Do you think Brady will stay at LSU or be hired immediately by another program?

If things go well, he’s our OC in 2020

If things don’t how do we keep Ensminger another year?

I'll answer your questions with more questions....

Are you extra-salty today for a reason?

Losing Sopsher got you down in the dumps?

No worries. Coach 0 can more than make up coaching-wise for landing only 1 HS DL recruit to Saban's 8.

Not at all. I think it is funny that people take a rantard myth and argue it like it is a fact. I'm not even saying it won't happen but there is no evidence what-so-ever to suggest it. Not to mention other things that would need to happen for it to even possibly come to fruition.

Not at all. I would rather have Siaki Ika. Having both would have been great but it didn't happen. One recruit does not make or break a team and it certainly does not affect me at all.

So you ask me if I am salty or down in the dumps and then you go all melt mode over a subject that wasn't even being discussed in this thread.

I would not read too much into the passing game coordinator title. Brady is the de facto WR coach since Joseph cannot coach WR. I hope it is a nice pick up with his energy and expertise on RPO, but don't set your expectation high with a WR coach hire. Which WR coach hire in the history of LSU football contributed to the offense improvement greatly?

Careful. You may get writer's cramp from drawing so many strawmen. Might want to go re-read my OP. I was asking a question. And also said "Catching up..." because I haven't been on The Rant much in the last month or two. I haven't read any theories on Joe Brady. But, somehow, in your world, I've "argued it as fact" by starting this thread. Lol.

Oh, sorry. I did not realize they were mutually exclusive. Somehow, Saban got around the "2 DL recruits per class" Tiger Ree Rule.

That's not melt mode, sweetheart. Melt mode would be you parachuting into a thread where OP is posing a question for discussion, and then proceeding to draw up salt-encrusted strawmen left and right. Understand?

I can only assume you are either butthurt about Sopsher or pissed that Joe Brady was given your assigned parking spot. Which is it?
