2019: The Slinger finishes up his 2-year deal while Brady helps him out of the stone age.
2020: Brady takes the reins as 29-yr-old OC wunderkind.

That's what it feels like to me. Maybe a year to help him get acclimated to the job and then hand the reigns over to him. If not next year then maybe the following.

No it doesn't. It is just another Rantard board myth.

Yes. Because he drew up some plays on a napkin with 4 receiver sets.

This place is amazing.

I wouldn't be surprised if coach e wants to enjoy retirement. He possibly told coach o from the start that he would give him two years and then retire. Obviously speculation, but I wouldn't be shocked if that is how it went down. Coach O beg coach e and then he agrees, but only will give him two years.

E gets full state retirment after this season

But rantards are going to let this fact get in the way of their "rah rah Coach O just hires his buddies for life" narrative.

What exactly does a possible football coach promotion feel like?

The only thing amazing is your idiotic response.

You are discrediting a guy who Sean Payton directly linked to game day prep and offensive scheming.

Well just ask O for us right quick when you bring him his next cup of coffee.

I'm not discrediting him at all.

I'm just saying let him do something here, other than draw up some routes on a bar napkin, before we announce him as the OC in waiting.

I think we need to get thought this year first. The guy hasn't done annoying for us yet. Let's See how things play out.

This place is like Goldilocks. Yall never find the porridge to be just right.

Coaches are either too old and part of the boys club or they are too young and don't have any skins on the wall.

I, for one, am excited about Joe Brady cuz so far I have been given no reason not to be.

I am an LSU fan which means that I will hope and assume the best until proven otherwise.

In-Waiting?

In-waiting was tried a couple of times when coaches were in the twilight of their career (Mack Brown, Bobby Bowden). It worked at FSU, not at UT. Applewhite couldn’t wait. This in-waiting thing isn’t a thing anymore.

And you are pumping up a guy you had never heard of until 2 weeks ago. It goes both ways.

that scenario seems a lot more plausible than Billy Gonzales "shadow OC" from 10 or so years ago.

I mean I’m pumped he didn’t just hire someone who was on staff with him at USC in 2002 like I feared he might.
