Going into SEC play what are your thoughts on catcher utilization? Here are my thoughts on what could be done for what has been shown so far.

Friday:
C - Neal
DH - Travinski

Sat:
C- Travinski
DH- Neal

Sun:
C- Milazzo
RF- Neal
DH- Travinski

Neal sitting out mid-week games.

how blessed are they to have 3 elite catchers on one team...they would be competing for all SEC honors if they were on seperate teams.

You could be right. Looks like Hurd pitches to Trav and Jump to Milazzo.

So Neal in RF on Saturday?

I don't think it is going to be a set schedule every weekend. It's going to be based on who needs breaks, who is hot, who is pitching for us, and who is pitching against us. I think Neal has caught both midweek games we have played up until this point. Also, having two outfielders who are struggling and Neal being able to play there changes things.

But as someone put it last night CJJ wants him to have a break because of him coming off the back injury. What best time to have a break is the week leading into the weekend?

I understand that Neal is going to need breaks. My point is that up until now, he has given Neal days off on the weekend, not during the midweek. I'm not saying that will continue, but that is what has happened so far.

It's like when Les had 10 TE's on the roster

Jay has a plethora of catchers
Frey and Jones were actually recruited to LSU as C

I downvoted

My thoughts:
1. You really should use “who” instead of “that” when the object is a person.
2. You seem sensitive to downvotes, which is the reason for mine.
3. Your suggestion on catchers is reasonable as are several other combinations.

Let's be honest, when talking about those 3 and who should catch what games there really is not a wrong answer. Any of them could be plugged in and be fine. The question will be how much rest does Neal still need and if he will be playing RF at all.

Rotate Neal and Travs at catcher and DH.
Let milazzo come in as late game sub and catch midweek games

Has Milazzo improved at all as hitter specifically has he been able to show any increase in XB hits?

Travinski doesn’t really ever need to catch. I could see some Sundays or perhaps to give White a break in the field occasionally

Yep. I didn't think Milazzo would be the odd man out, but with the hitting of Travinski and Neal we need them to be weekend staples.

My biggest concern currently is with our 4th catcher playing first. He obviously needs to play because of his bat, but the not stretching to dig out balls in the dirt or coming off the bag for a bad pick off throw is going to bite us in the butt when a big game is on the line. We have to do something else at 1st base.

Bruh all 5 of our catchers need to be in every single game all the time.

C Milazzo
LF Neal
DH Travinksi
1B Jones
RF Frey

Wrap that around

3B White
SS Braswell
2B Milam
CF Bingham

I haven’t seen that until this weekend. I was surprised how well he had played first until he missed Milam’s throw.

That's fair. There was only an instance or two early on until it reared it's head the last few games.

Those are basic principals of the position. I expect a player of his caliber to really focus and take the opportunity with maximum effort. I want him to succeed there.
