He might be the best coach in the country. He won a title in 2018 and 62 isn't that old, especially for baseball. Doing what he did at Oregon frickin' State is legendary.
But there is some risk there with the pressure of this job and obviously the PR nightmare about the sex offender player. And he's never left Oregon before.
My melt candidate would be Bianco. Dude will never win shite at LSU or anywhere else.

Casey is the pearl clutching candidate.
He has 3 CWS and won like 3 years ago. The guy can coach. Anyone who wants to argue otherwise is kidding themselves. The baggage is The issue.
Also, what is O’Sullivan supposed to have done that the Board is saying no to him but yea to Casey?

I don't think he covered/lied for him. He just didn't kick him off the team. He did bench him in Omaha for not registering when he moved or left the state or whatever, which cost them a title maybe.
But yeah, he didn't kick him off the team and welcomed him back the following year and won a title. Then retired.

I didn’t spend years calling Oregon State Pedo supporters and spitting on his name just to welcome him with open arms. frick Pat Casey and everything he stands for.

How many aren't melt candidates? Seriously? Half the board will melt no matter who is hired and 90% will likely melt over other certain potential hires. Not sure why we would want to bring a guy out of retirement though (although he clearly knows how to win at the highest level in baseball). The other issues aren't ideal either.
