I made a few posts here before the game last week, and I wanted to come back and say thanks.

This trip was my first time to LSU, and I had heard tons of stories about how horrible LSU fans were. I wasn't really worried, but I was slightly apprehensive that I would face a bunch of rude folks who would spoil a great tailgate and game. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I tailgated over by the law school and walked all over campus. Everywhere I went, people were nice, polite, and after a "tiger bait" chant, which was not really in a mean spirit, I had great conversations with folks. LSU fans were generous with their food, were knowledgeable about the game, and were really polite. One student even gave me the koozie right off his beer because he wanted me to keep it as a souvenir. Off his own beer.

I walked all over the parade grounds, went to the student union, and over to the Chimes before heading to the stadium, so I got a good cross-section of the fans. Young, old, everyone.

The stadium was loud. Wow. I was sitting way up in the cheap seats and I had to scream to my wife (next to me) to discuss the game. I cannot imagine how loud it must have been down lower where the sound would concentrate. Y'all have a great atmosphere at night.

I wish that we could have stopped your first down running more, but we couldn't. That was the difference in the game (overall), and that's how it usually goes in the SEC. If you win the battle in the trenches, you win. That's what happened.

If any LSU fans make the trip to Columbia next time, I'll be sure to check back here and offer my thoughts on where to go and what to do. Heck, I may even give a Tiger fan my ol' Gamecock Koozie. Maybe. Thanks for making my first trip to Tiger Stadium a great one.

Just thought y'all would like some feedback since there seems to be such negative impression of LSU fans out there.

Glad you had a good time. I'd want to be greeted by amiable Carolina fans if I ever get the chance to go to Columbia.

Glad you enjoyed the visit to LSU and Tiger Stadium. The Gamecock fans I encountered were also very polite and seemed to enjoy a little good natured ribbing. They all said they enjoyed the atmosphere that is LSU gameday.

Sorry, but if you didn't get hit by a piss balloon or see a LSU fan knock an elderly USCe fan out of her wheelchair, then you didn't get the true Tiger Stadium experience

Glad you enjoyed the trip. I had a fond memory where I attended the 1983 USC (California) versus USC (SC) game. I remember a bunch of Carolina folks wearing tee shirts that said "Your Trojans can't hold our Cocks" it was hilarious

We only throw batteries and piss balloons at the fans in the lower bowl.

Glad you had a great time. I've been around several visiting fans and most of them had similar experiences.

Glad you had a good time. I've felt the SC fans are the nicest road fans i've encountered in the SEC
