Well yea. Very few in the country are.
I don’t know why y’all are trying to discredit Hester here.

Some have Emery at 5'11", guice, wasn't. There are plenty db's that are under 6'.

Because it’s a thread wondering why we don’t take a flyer on the next Hester

Watched that game this summer again... we ran with Hester entirely too much...

Probably doesn't apply to 5 star RBs .

That's not really accurate.
Look at today's signings. You'll see that except for "athlete and RB", they'll be very few signees, if any, under six feet. Check it out.

There are lots of D1 backs under 6 feet

No, I don't need to check it out. I know that there are several ATH and RBs, as well as DBs and WRs, and even QBs listed under 6 feet that are signing with D1 schools today.
You said D1 schools rarely look at kids under 6 foot. You gave no qualifiers to your statement. You were wrong. It happens all the time every single year.

his film looks like he plays opponents JV Team...the DLs he is going against cant be more than 160lbs....he is just bigger than anyone and nobody wants to tackle him...based on our RB haul...i say pass

This is not new news. Please don’t insult jacob Hester by comparing this kid to him
why would hester be insulted. Hester wasnt a 5 or 4 star either. In fact, Hester could probably appreciate this kids predicament

Why are people making such a big deal out of this kid not having any scholarship offers? He's not a 2019 recruit. He's got another whole spring, summer, and fall to get in front of recruiters.
Right. And if he didn't play much as a freshman or sophomore (although I can't imagine why he wouldn't have), it makes sense.
The recruiting process actually starts fairly early on. If you're not on schools' radar by the start of your junior year, it will take some time to get noticed.
College football coaches don't have time to watch high school game film looking for diamonds in the rough.
He'll wind up somewhere.

It's 5A-looks are deceiving....these are corn-fed country boys for the most part

Crootin is different now. Hester wouldn’t have been offered then. No knock on him. He earned his place. Great RB for LSU. But with the 25 limit, he’s not offered unless it’s last case.

Look at the top RBs in the NFL, a great number of them are under 6'.
A lot of them avoid taking clean shots because of their lower center of gravity.

Looked like Indiana high school football wasn't that talented.

Fullback is a dying position that usually gets walk-on/preferred walk-on offers and that guy is not fast enough for RB. He is going to get small school offers probably.
Posted on 12/19/18 at 3:27 pm to StarkvilleTigerFan
We signed the #2 and #8 RBs in the country in this class. I'm not worried about missing out on someone that doesn't have an offer from anyone.
