People close to the program are saying that O is bringing somebody in. I think that with people coming back and some talent coming in that the offense is going to be better anyway. Having said that bringing in a co offensive coordinator is probably a good idea. Let Steve finish his contract and the other guy is already here.

Why would any real offensive coordinator that has a proven track record of success be a Co-OC with the likes of Ensminger and ride his coattails? Seems like a horrible career decision.
If there is someone brought in, it won't be anyone worth a shite that makes any difference.

This is a shameful statement. I would imagine that Steve is well respected by his peers in coaching, in fact, everything I've heard from the coaching community has been positive.

I would say they respect him as a coach, but know he's not equipped to run an offense in this day and age of football.
If we bring someone in as a "co-oc" it's gonna be a young guy with something to prove who will wait for a chance to become HC at a smaller school or OC at LSU or it will be another coach no one is going after.
It's hard to imagine we get someone who is highly sought after to be "co-oc" with a guy who will likely be here for another 2 years. Just wouldn't make sense for a well established OC to do that.
ETA: and if we bring in a co-oc it's gonna be a guy who runs a similar offense to what E has done this year because I find it highly unlikely O let's the new guy change the entire offense. That could be good or bad depending on who they get.

I would imagine that it's more symbolic than anything else. Steve will get to finish his contract which is up next season. The guy, for all practical purposes will be running the offense. I guess we'll see. It's supposed to be resolved by early signing day.
