With student section seats being handled differently this year… does anyone know if there will be a way to purchase through a third party?

They are non transferable. So, from what I understand, if the students don’t go, they are encouraged to sell their ticket back to LSU, and then students can purchase from LSU.

Purchase through LSU if tickets available from students that have tickets and not using. IMHO students should not have to pay anything to attend any LSU sports activities. It’s all about the $$$.

My buddy and I used to buy student tickets from students outside the stadium. We usually paid $5. Paid $10 a couple of times. We would drive down from Shreveport and just look for students holding up tickets. This is 94-96 so they were still all paper tickets. When you entered they did check your student ID.
Fortunately an LSU-S student ID was enough for them.
Good times, we took turns getting hammered. One of us would stay mostly sober to drive and babysit the other one. It seems like we always drove back after the game. The idea of a hotel was too much for a couple of poor college kids. He cut grass and I worked construction to get through college.

It's clearly not all about the money or LSU could just not have student tickets and sell another 14,000 at a highly increased rate.

I'm pretty sure every other sport is free to attend for students, and LSU doesn't charge a student fee for athletics. Where I work they charge $20 per credit hour ($240-$360 for a full time student) in athletics fees.

$140 only to those who want to buy football tickets seems like a pretty good deal for the students. I certainly never complained about it.

LSU has to be leaving at least $6 million on the table doing it they way they do.

They only do so for football, and that was not the case when I went there. It was also the case that a growing number of students grumbled that they should have to pay the fee associated with free admission to LSU Football events. That was in 1980. I was not surprised when they removed the football part of whatever that fee was called and started charging for football tickets.

So LSU can mark them up to regular ticket prices. Such bs.

Supposedly freshmen can’t get tickets for all the games this year. They have to choose from different packages of games

They offered 2 Packages today:
$75-Purple Package- Clemson, Miss. St., Alabama
$60-Gold Package- La. Tech, aTm, Texas

They had to join a "Collegiate Club" to have access to a time slot for buying tickets, and could only select one Package. The McNeese game will be sold at a later date.

No. If a student that has tickets that doesn’t want to go to the game can digitally return it back to LSU, where it will be put up for resale only to other students. The student with the original ticket will be reimbursed the value of that ticket.

“The McNeese game will be sold at a later date.“ McNeese game is family weekend so LSU holds a lot of tickets to sell to students families.
